QUITMAN GIRL SHOT
MOTHER WITH OLD GUN,
Quitman, Ga.. July 8. —Mrs. T. I
N. Jones was almost instantly]
killed in her home there today by
her 10-.veaf-old daughter, Mrs.
Cora Lou Jones, who was playful
ly snapping an old pistol in her I
mother’s face.
The pistol had been found
among some abandoned furniture
in a store room in the house and j
the daughter had pulled the trig-,
ger of the old weapon repeatedly. 1
Apparently it was not loaded, \
but when she turned the muzzle i
towards her mother the pistol was]
fired, the ball piercing her |
mother’s head, and scattering her |
brains about the room. The young
woman was seized with convul
sions when she realized what she
had done and her condition is I
critical.
