VOL. XXIV. Christmas Hunt; Painful Wound. Yesterday, while hunting with some young friends near this place, Douglas McGregor, the eldest son of Mr J. M. D. Mc- Gregor of Ailey i received a very painful gunshot wound in tile right foot. ft seems that the young man had rested the guu on his foot, and in some manner it was dis charged, the entire load passing through the toot. He was soon brought to Mt. Vernon, where the wound was cared for by Dr. Hunt, and he is now doing as well as could he anticipated, even though the wound is very pain ful. Dr. Palmer was also called over on account of the accident, and he carried the unfortunate youth back with him. NO REGULAR PAPER CHRISTMAS.
