Moye of Arcadia, Florida, were here last week visiting Mr. C. A. Mason, brother of Mrs. Moye, and other relatives. Mr. Moye is an orange grower and talks interestingly of possibilities in fruit culture in Florida. Mr. W. A. Peterson was chosen foreman of the grand jury of the superior court in ses sion this week. Mrs. Wooten came over from Kastman with Solicitor General Wooten on Saturday, to visit rel atives during superior court this week. Mr. J. D. MoCrimmon of the Soperton section was in to see us this week and enrolled as a Mon itor subscriber. Mr. James 11. Walker and son of Ailey, R. F. I)., were visitors here this week. Miss Eloise Adams, in company with some friends, is spending a few days at Shamrock Springs. Mr. H. N. Thigpen, a promi nent citizen of Lollie, Ga., was attending to legal business here this week. Several familiar faces from over in Wheeler were seen here this week. The old boys have a homesick look, and don’t say a word about having to crawl coon fashion over the railroad trestle to get to court. Mr. James Council of Mcßae, well known to the people of this section, was here on business this week. Mr. J. A. Smith, formerly of Uvalda, but now residing on Route 1 Vidalia, was among The Monitor’s many readers to call Tuesday. Miss Inez Mcßae, Principal of the public school department of the Hrewton Parker Institute, re turned a few days ago from Knox ville, Tenn., where she spent the past two months. Mr. Maddox operates a modern blacksmith and repair shop in the thriving town of So perton. lie is a good workman and makes a specialty of horse shoeing. His business is backed hy honest effort and is on the up grade. Messrs. M. H. Mclntyre and C. A. Walker of Ailey Route 1 and I. C. S. Berner of Mt. Ver non Route 1 were in to see The Monitor on business Tuesday. Dull times have but little effect on two things the people must have bacon and the county pa per. Messrs. E. F. Allmond and A. 11. Hamilton of Vidalia Route 1 were early callers at this office yesterday. Mr. B. A. Conner, a prominent young business man of Vidalia, was mingling with friends here a few days ago. Col. Henry C. Beasley, a prom inent member of the Tattnall county bar. Reidsville, was among the court visitors Monday. Col. Beasley is a son of the late Isaiah Beasley, and enjoys an ex tensive practice. Mr. L. Gillis of the Lothair section was among those to en roll his name among the new subscribers to the county paper this week. Scores of others tell us they cannot do without the old sheet. Mr. E. T. Mcßride of Vidalia, and quite a number of other J business men from that thriving city, came up to court yesterday. Miss Wimberly, Miss DeWitt, Dr. Coleman and Mr. Bishop, all of Kyons, were guests of Mr. and Mrs. John E. Mcßae here last Thursday. Justice K. M. Johnson of Als ! ton was here on business Tues- I day. Mr. R. F. Mcßae left this week for a trip to the mountains of North Georgia. He was ac companied by Miss Lucy McAll ister. Mr. W. C.
