(ADVERTISEMENT) HON. M. H. BOYER IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED FOR SOLICITOR=GENERAL OF OCONEE CIRCUIT BY HAWKINSVILLE DISPATCH AND NEWS. • In a ringing endorsement by the Hawkinsville Bar and County Officers, the candidacy of M. H. Boyer for Solicitor General of the Oconee Circuit, whose announce ment appears elsewhere in this issue, is unqualifiedly approved. The home county of this able and popular attorney is standing sol idly behind his race, and his election seems assured. For more than twenty years M. H. Boyer has been a member of the Georgia Bar, during the en tire period being honorable and successfully identified with the practice of law in Pulaski and adjoining counties. He was born at Sandersville, Washington county, Georgia, September 4th, 1878. His parents were Mirabeau and Vivian Skrine Boyer, both bearing old and hon ored names in Georgia history. On both paternal and maternal sides he comes of a long line of very early settlers in this state, and many of the names have be come conspicious because of high j achievement. The mother of |Mr. Boyer still surviving is now in her sixty-eighth year, is a grand daughter of the late Judge Skrine, formerly of the late Middle Cir cuit, and a niece of Judge Skrine of the Augusta Bench. His father, who died in 1898, was a Confederate soldier of honorable service. He was admitted to' the Bar of this Circuit in 1898, and immedi ately entered into practice of law, in which profession he has been actively engaged ever since. At a young age he was thrown upon his resources which taught him habits of self-reliance and gave him understanding of and sympathy with those situated like himself, and inspiteof many difficulties he has risen to the height of his profession in this circuit. Shortly after his admission to the Bar and in 1900, realizing his fitness for public responsibilities he was appointed by Governor Candler Solicitor of the County Court of Pulaski county. For six years he filled that office with such marked efficiency that he was reappointed by Governor Terrell, but resigned this trust in order to give all his attention to his rapidly growing and im portant privlte practice. After wards, for eight years he served as City Attorney of Hawkinsville. In 1912 he went to the Nation al Democratic convention at Bal- Statement of the Condition of Citizens Bank, Located at Alston, Ga., at the Close of Business June 80, 1920: RESOUK)IBB: Time loans $51,362 28 Bonds and Stocks owned by the Bank 10000 Banking house, 2,500 00 Furniture and fixtures, 2,500 00 Cash in Vault and amount deposited in banks 39,193.4!
