An exchange says a blockhead
might easily be level headed.
How do you make it square up
the block or block up t the level?
See where Harding is to give
up active editorial work. Should
not allow a little matter like the
presidency to interfere with one’s

News concerning Kaiser Bill,
refugee on Dutch soil, attract
little attention of late years. His
days of causing world alarm are
over. A little soil over his bones
would not be harmful, as far as
the sentiment of the world at
large is concerned.
“Buy Now” sounds very well
to the guy with the wherewith.
Many of us are like the old lady
who was told by the minister of
a time when weeping and gnash
ing of teeth would prevail, and
who replied: "Let them gnash
as has ’em; I hasn’t any.”
Well, the new year started off
with the usual rush, at least as
fast as time flies, so let us keep
time to the music and march on
to some kind of glorious success—
whatever it is. Even if it is
nothing but picking up chips, let
us strive to get our basket full
before the other and less indus
trious laborer does. N uhing
like coming out on tup, even in
small matters.
McAdoo says he is not to be
associated with the Ford Motor
Co., as was reported. Cannot
crank up William G. until 1924.
This flivver connection may not
be oad, as Me. Mi \doo is recog
nized as one of l In' most capable
engineers in the United Slates.
McAdoo ran a tunnel un r the
Hudson river, but IK nry Ford
has built millions of lit! 1 contrap
tions that run all over the world.
The Monitor thinks there
may be oil in Montgomery

One of the subjects to be treat
ed by the next general assembly
of Georgia is that of high-heeled
shoes for women. The Georgia
assembly did not ratify the sutf
rage amendment when it was be
fore the state assemblies, and it
is possible that high pegs for
feminine support will be given a
little jolt this summer. But,
after all, this proposition has a
silly air to it. If the women
want to walk on stilts, they will j
naturally say that the state as
sembly has no right to object to
any form of locomotion; and on
they’ll go.

The school authorities in Al
bany, N. Y., did exactly right in
dismissing a public school teach
er who had been instructing her
pupils in communism, Bolshevism |
and what not. There is no place!
in America, especially in the
public schools, for this cancerous
doctrine. This country will do
well to observe its own laws and
exalted precepts handed down by
the fathers, without the adop
tion of foreign isms and schisms.
After America, through her
army, saved the world from Ger- 1
man dominion, these wretches
who are allowed to overrun our j
fair land are seeking to convert]
it to the devil.

THE UNIVERSAL CAR
Here’s the Ford Coupe, deservedly a very popular motor car because
of its all-round serviceability. Equipped with electric starting and
lighting system and demountable rims with tires front and
rear. Large plate glass windows. Generous sized doors roomy seat,
upholstery deep and substantial. Dust-proof and water-proof. Breezy
and cheery in fine weather, cozy and dry in bad weather. All the
established Ford merits of dependability, with small cost for opera
tion and upkeep. For business and professional men who drive it
is ideal and for touring and other pleasure driving it is the one car
that delivers all expectations. The demand is large so orders should
be left with us without delay. A
