GOING AFTER FARMERS
Capping the already good work ot
the Georgia & Florida Railway ac
complished during the last few years
through its advertising campaign
along agricultural development lines
which has resulted in the establish
ment of one of the most attractive
colonization plants in the state, Mr.
W. F,. French, general industrial
agent, is leaving today with a supply
of 40,(X10 special advertising sheets
and a consignment of potatoes, oats,
watermelons, cantaloupes, and other
farm products, together with fifty
photo enlargements 'showing the
farming country along the line of
the road.
The special occasion is the annual
conference of the Dunkard church to
he held at Winona Fake, Indiana,
June Bth to 16th.
The Dunkard people are '/.*> per
cent farmers, and Mr. French has en
gaged desirable rooms at the Winona ■
Hotel, where he will hold forth the j
Georgia headquarters, and he will bej
assisted by several Dunkards who are j
familiar with the Georgia & Florida j
Railway territory, and it is expected j
that this campaign will result in
bringing a large number of progres
sive farmers to Georgia this year.
Mr. D. F. Kirkland, who is in
charge of all work of this nature for
the railroad, will join Mr. French at
Winona Fake in a few days, remain
ing there for the period of the con
ference.
It is estimated that there will he
between 60,(XX) and 75,000 people on
the grounds, which, as a matter of
fact affords a great opportunity to
exploit a country amongst some of
America’s most thrifty farmers.
