THE GRADY COUNTY PROGRESS Best Ever Brought Here THE OFFICIAL PRINT SHOP OF GRADY COUNTY. BEN F. PERRY & SON, Proprietors, Entered as matter of the second class at the Cairo, Georgia, Post Office, unde i the Act of March 3rd, 1879. We have just returned from Tennessee where we spent last week buying two car loads of mules for our trade. We have put forth our best efforts in the selection of these mules, and in our opinion, they are the best lot of TENNESSEE BRED, GOOD HAIRED, SHAPY, MARE MULES from ten hundred to twelve hundred pounds, eyer shipped to this sec tion of the state—only three horse mules in the entire lot. A most cordial invitation is extended to all of our friends and customers to come and see them whether interested in tra ding at this time or not—pass on our judgment--and see if in your opinion we know a good mule when we see it: Realizing that mules will be higher after the close of the European War than at any time since the Civil War, we are shipping in these two loads of the best Mare Mules to be had, all four and five years old, with the idea of trading them for aged mules, or mules that for any reason are unsatisfactory, now while it a,n be done at a reasonable figure, and stocking the country with younger and better stock, before they get too high to ship. <■ - ’’ It will be a pleasure to sell you a mule when we can, of course, but the main idea is to exchange these good y* ung mules that will give satisfaction for the next fifteen or twenty years, for those in the country that are now failing or for any other reason are proving unsatisfactory, and relieve you of the likely-hood of having to do your trading next fall or the year SUBSCRIPTION PRICE: . 50 cents for 6 Months; 25 cents for Three Monti AD VERTISING RATES: Most Reasonable and Made 'Known Upon'Application. CAIRO, GRADY COUNTY, GEORGIA, JAN. Sth 1915. Notice Subscribers Nature gives every man a char acter but ne has to supply his own reputation; Quitman claim it has made more progress in the last year than any other city in the state. Be a booster for your town and business. There’s lots of good things and folks to talk about. A boundary line fight is being waged between North Carolina and Tennessee, involving about 40,000 acres of mountain timber lands both states are taxing. •Brooks county ham and bacon are to be graded as first, second and third class and all Quitman buyers have pledged themselves to buy meat according to those grades. The farmers wouldlike to know what lias become of that $135,- 000,000 reported to have been raised some weeks ago to help fi nance the cotton crop and bring prosperity to the South. Yes, who has seen it? pired. The amount stated ir the notice covers your past due subscription and will-bring youi subscription up to the next even year. For instance if your sub scription expired June 15th, 1914, you will receive a statement for $1,00 which will pay your sub scription up to June 15th, 1915. In making out several hundret statements it is probable that er rors have occurred, These will be straightened out if you will call our attention to them. We hope those receiving these state ments will respond promptly. entirely upon reaching you through the mail. We adopted this method believing our sub scribers would prefer this meth od to being aqcosted on the streets and asked for the amount due, then .too, it would cost us a considerable part of the sub scription price to have a man to go to every subscriber once a year and collect his dollar. The plan has not been a very great success but we are not ready to give it up yet, When we do give it up it will be to put the paper on a strict cash in advance basis. So, when you receive one of these notices don’t throw it away, mail us a check or money order to cover the amount. A receipt will be promptly mailed for the amount remitted. Pres.
