two of the roughest days Ellijay
has seen since the rains ceased
last spring Just before night
Wednesday afternoon the rain
turred to snow which would have
covered the ground an inch or so
deep had it not been so wet
Mr. J. C. Walker, of Snyder,
left last Saturday for Montverd,
Fla., to spend some time with his
son, Willie Walker. Clarence,
another one of his sons living in
Asheville, N. C-, met him in At¬
lanta and accompanied him to
Florida.

Atlanta, spent Sunday night in
Ellijay. Mr. Maxwell ^represents
the Citizens and Southern Bank
of Atlanta, a fifty million dollar
corporation, and travels in the
interest of this bank in Georgia,
Alabama and South Carolina He
is a brother-in law to Herbert
Tabor.

couple are very popular in Ellijay
and enjoy the friendship of a wide
circle of friends in town and
throughout the county who join
in wishing them much happiness
in their new life. Mr and Mrs.
Barclay plan to make their home
in Copperhill, Tenn.

“BIG DAN,” the Charles production ■'£~ recently completed by
Jones
William Fox, is a story of the prize-ring written by .Fred and Fannie
Hatton, the noted playwrights. When the exciting film was piivately
shown to a group of eminent ringside men, sport writers, fighters and
promoters, Jones’ pugilistic work was applauded vigorously. One of
the promoters offered the famous film star a chance to become famous
through another channel, namely, that of the rope arena. Jones, of
ourse, refused, being happy in his presen medium.
