On last Thursday as the morning sun came over the eastern hills the Resistless Reaper swept through our community and on its strong pinion carried away the spirit of Mrs. Abner Payne. She was sixty seven years of age and had lived in this connty thirty seven years, and had been a true member of the Baptist church at Hampton twenty four years. She was a true Christ-like woman, She was gentle and kind, a good sister in the church, a good neighbor, a good mother, always looking* alter her household well. Sister Payne is survived hv four children, two sons and two daugh ters and several grandchildren. We would say to her beloved chil dren weep not, for we feel assured thac your mother is in heaven, with husband, daughter and friends who had gone on before. Christ said I go to prepare a place for you and X will come again and take you to myself. We believe sister Payne is today sitting on the right hand of God where there is no sorrow, no pain, no weeping, no tears, but where all is happiness and joy and where Sabbaths have no end. May God comfort, guide and direct the be reft family; may they be found ready as their mother to trust in God ; may this be one reunited fam ily in God’s kingdom, is our pray er. E. W. B.
