Well, I have been absent for some time but if the kind editor will al low me a little space I will try and come once more. We htj,ve been having some bad v eather for sometime, although tl e past week has been the pret t est one in a longtime. The r >ads in this section have been almost impassable. Mr. Pearce Welch and son, Joe lan, passed through here this p’ace last' Saturday enroute to Hampton. Mr. H. H. Greer must surely like E orida. He says he is going down tgain soon to spend awhile there. Mr. Dan Ponder and wife spent 1< st Sunday with Mr. Vince Butlur, ni ar Sunny Side. Mrs Willie Carr and children, Mr. Guss and Miss Abbie Morris and Mr. Rogers Martin were the guests of Mr. W. T. Greer Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Billie Copeland have been quite sick but their many friends hope to see them out again soon. Buck Martin says he is trying to mud-ditch but that the ditches are nearer full of frogs and craw fish than they are of mud. The grain crops are going to be short in this section on account of the rain knocking them out of sow ing last fall. Mrs. C II Martin has been quite ill this week with Lagrip. We are glad to know that Mr. W E. Copeland is improving fast at this writing. Mrs. V D Martin and son, R E Martin went to Hampton shopping last Monday. We would be glad if Tar Bucket would stop falling in tin' tar and # et ns hear from there a little oft ner. We are sorry to note the death of Mrs. Swann. She leaves a hus band and several children to mourn her death. HAT ROCK.* Everybody enjoying this fine weather. Mrs. Wylie Milam of Stockbridge passed to the great, beyond Sunday at the home of her son, Mr. Wes. Milam. We extend to the bereav ed ones our heartfelt sympathy. Mr. George Bradberry of Rex is quite sick at this writing. Mr. Grady Morris has returned home from Young Harris college to the delight ot his many friends. Mr. Walter Wilson had the mis fortune of getting his house burn ed Tuesday afternoon. There was no insurance. Miss Ora Walden is visiting her cousins, Misses Ella and Elon Wal den this week. I Misses Flavella and May Owens were guests at the home of their grand parents Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Owens, Sunday —2 School Girls. WHiTE HOUSE, Rev. Dan Henderson preached at Ozius Sunday. Messrs. Jay Harper and Highly Knight visited in our community Sunday night. Mr. Tip Moseley paid McDon ough a visit Monday. Misses Nannie B. and Bessie Collins and Clyde Moseley were out horse-back riding Saturday. Miss Laura Patterson spent last Tuesday night with her sister, Mrs. Dock Moseley. Mr. and Mrs Frank Crnmbley visited Mr. Elijah Morris and fam ily Saturday night and Sunday. Mrs. D. C. Collins and daughter, Nannie 8., spent last Tuesday at the honu of Mrs. Caroline Mose ley. Mr. Deck Crnmbley arwl family spent Sunday with Iris sister, Mrs. Dr. R. Hightower. Mr. Grady M.ddox and wife spent part of last week with rel atives in Atlanta. Messrs. Raleigh Ford and Henry Moseley hitched to a new po s t Sunday. Mr. Ward Crnmbley passed through our town Sunday. Several of our young people en joyed a nice ride Sunday after noon. Mrs. Tip Moselev has been on the sick list for the past week, but is better at this writing. Mr. Charlie Bryant and b ri d e spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Hiram Elliott. Last Sunday morning at the home of Rev. A C Elliott, M.ss Virlie Elliott, one of Sateen’s love ly young Indies, and Mr. Frank Gleaton, one of White House’s in dustrious young men, were happi ly married, Rev. A C. Elliott per forming t..e ceremony. We all wish for them a happy and pros perous future. Mr. Ernest Elliott 's many fUends will regret to learn that he is very sicb with measles. Messrs. Manley Smith and Wil liam Cook visited the Misses Mose ly Sunday night. Messis. Walter Wilson and Lee Hinton visited in our town Sun day afternoon. Miss Agnes Leverette is assisting Miss Morrison. Mr. Noel Jinks made a business trip to Atlanta last Thursday. Mr. Jack McKibbtn will move into his new residence this week. Messrs. Crumb and Settle and Misses Morrison and Leverette were out riding Sunday. The singing at Mr. Prentice .links’ Sunday afternoon was highly enjoyed by everyone. Miss Cleo Moss had the misfor tune of badly hurting her hand last Sunday by her mule running away. Miss Fannie Lee Leverette of Eaton ton, Mr. and Mrs. Will Col lins of Locust Grove and Mr. and Mrs. Will Collins of Macon visited Mrs. S 0 Collins last week. We are sorry to know Mrs Jam Ingrain is very sick at this writing Mr. Az/.ie Moss returned home last week after quite an extended visit to Mississippi. Married. December 20th, at Stockbridge, about live o’clock, occurred the wedding of Mr. Gordon West of Sandersville, and Miss Lena Car roll, of Stockbridge. The wedding took place at the home of the bride's sister, Mrs. Virgie Upshaw. The room being decorated with holly and ferns, presented a very prettv appearance. The ceremony was performed by Rev, M. B. Samfj, in a very im pressive manner. Immediately after the ceremony was performed, a very sumptuous supper was serv ed with hot chocolate and ambro sia. The bride and groom left on the seven o’clock Southern train for Macon and thence to their fu ture home at Sandersville. Mr. West is held in high esteem as a collector for the Chicago por trait Company, of Chicago 111., which position he lias held for the past two years. While Mrs. West us Miss Carroll, was one of the prettiest and most popular young ladies of Stockbridge. Those present were the bride's father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. S. E.
