BRYAN AND DEMOCRACY. No Matter what, any of us may have thought of Mr. Bryan a few years ago ; no matter what we may have thought of the advisability of his nomination this time, he is now the party’s candidate and, as such, is entitled to our loyal, enthusias tic support. But he is entitled to it., not alone because he is the party’s nominee ; liMs entitled to it for himself and for what fce rep resents, as compared with the other candidates and their plat forms. He is not “another man's man”, like Taft, nor a political frue-hooter, like Watson, nor a free-advertising dodge, like His gen. He js. a big, brainy, upright American, with opinions and prin ciples of his own—even if we can not entirely agree with all of them. His platform is a better plfftform, taking it. as a whole, than any yet enunciated—and his party, the same old Democratic party that has been our mainstay for more than forty years—is closer to and more in sympathy with the people of the South than all the other par ties combined.—Augusta Chroni cle. This is well spcken—the bravest thing we have seen in the Chroni cle. We hope there will be plenty more of this kind of talk, for it is calculated to do good to the weak kneed brother. It helps to stiffen the man who writes and rhe man who reads it—Savannah Press. And the Democratic party stands for something more than personal ity. denunciation and abuse—it. stands for principle, for an honest govement administered in behalf of the whole people, and not a special few. It has withstood the storm of opposition for many years and it will be here to champion the people’scanseeven after the schem ing polititieians now living—both in it and out of it—have mouldered into dust. It is founded upon the bed rock principles of right, and right will prevail —Fairburn News 208 Acres Land For Sale. Near Peeksville. The Farmers’ Union News in speaking of this resolution says that it. is very clear, nnselfish and sound and that, that paper has always refused liquor ads. believ ing them to be immoral, as they would improperly influence the yonng minds of the home. So i 1 would seem that the prohibition sentiment is destined to cover Georgia as tiie waters cover the sea. The Union is right: There is no need for an editor to fill np hit paper every week ’ with a lot of dirty whiskey advertisement iWe have been editor of the Tatt. | nail Journal for the past fonrteei years and during that time a whiskey advertisement has never appeared in onr columns, and not. saying it boastingl.y, but we have always made a good support out. of the Journal and have never had one of our checks turned down for lack of funds! No there is no need for a newspaper rimming whiskey advertisement, there is plenty of other good business that they can get and leave the whiskey ads. off.—Tatnall Journal. Griffin Dist. W. H. M.
