onr county has lost f one of its best
citizens. He was principal of
Union Graded sckodl at this place
for a short time, tfnd under his
able management the educational
enterest in this coin m unity were
greatly advanced the well eqniped
school building of Union Graded
School now standing as a monu
ment, to the zeal and untiring ef
forts put fonrth by : him for the
cause of the educational interest
at this place. Prof;- Ham was a
good man, and <mly eternity can

(Special.) The Griffin district in
stitute began its fall session here
yesterday. The faculty is com
posed of W. E. Rosser, princi
pal ; Miss Lizzie Mitchell, first
assistant; Mrs. W. E. Rosser
second assistant, and Mips Carrie
Worsham, music teacher. Art and
expression teachers have not yet
been chosen. Indications ]>oint to
a successfull and prosperous year
. for the institute, and its patrons
j and friends are much gratified and
; encouraged at tne outlook.

Mr P.R. Martin has added quite

which goes to show that Rocky
Creek is growing.

Rocky Creek. All these things go
to show that this is building up a
very desirable section. One of
the most heathy sections in the
county.

the week in Atlanta.
