Cotton lias begun to dpen once more and some of the farmers have started to picking the fleecy staple. On last Monday morning Miss Alice Kelley, in company with her cousin, Miss Artie Bellah, of Stock bridge, left to go to college at the S. N. S. at Athens. Miss Annie Smith visited Miss Mae Cliafin last Sunday, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Crumbley were the guests of the latter’s parents, Mr and Mrs. Lester, of Rockdale Sunday . We are very sorry to announce that Mrs. W. F. Helms is quite sick at this writing. While enronte from Locust Grove, to Lithonia Mr. Billie Maddox, Hnd son dined with Mr. B. H. Mrs. Jessie Murphy, of Hamp ton, died Aug. 30th and was bur ied at the Bible Christian chnrh, of which she has been a member 1 for several years. We all hate to give her up for she has lived near us nearly all of her life and we had learned to love her as a very dear friend. She was a good Christian girl, always ready to go to church and Sunday school. / We know we we will miss her so much but God ' knoweth all things better than we do, so we will submit to the will of our fa ther which is in heaven and say, ‘ sleep on, dear one. thy sweet, peaceful sleep till the blessed, Heavenly Father calls thee to wake and come to dwell with Him eternally where none ever wake to weep. She was married to Mr. John Murphy last Christmas was one year ago, she was 25 years old at her death she leaves alittle in fant V months and six days ole so we will say to her husband to weep not for she’s only a sleeping. Mr. Tom Clowers got l:is barn burned last Sunday morning and three thousand bundles of fodder, we do not know how it caught on fire. He had no insurance. IN MEMORIAM On last Sunday morning August 29th, as the sun v*as shining bright on the eastern shore, the death angel came took from us our dear beloved Grand mother, Mrs. Se fronie Craig, and took her to her home beyond the skies, where there will be no sickness, pain or death, but ail will be joy and Hap piness.
