Phillips who resides about 3 miles west of McDonough, presented to the Weekly with some of the finest turnips of the season on Thursday, There was one of the turnips that measured 6% inches across. Mr. Phillips is one of those splen did farmers of Henry that raises every thing tlmt, will grow on the farn and garden and always has the “best” as a result of his labors There are few this year who have raised turnips on account of the unfavorable conditions but Mr. Phillips succeeded despite un favorable conditions'. It is in interest of the Widow'. 1 and Orphan’s Aid Association, the mission of whioh is to furnish SIOO to the family of a preacher when he dies. The association usually pays the family of the deceased preacher about. S4OO during the year of his death. The Conference will doubtless give much attention to pianing for colleges and schools under the patronage of the North Georgia Conference. Some $12,000 is col lected annually for educational purposes. This is the year for the election of delegates to the general confer ence and there is unusually inter est in this election, as the next general conference which meets in Ashville, N. C., in May 1910, will have a large number of bishops to eiect, as six have died since the the last general conference.—Cov ington News. Bright Young Woman Passes Away. On last Thursday at noon, Miss Nevada Sorrow died at the home of her mother, Mrs. J. H. Sorrow, five miles west of MoDonongh, after an illness of several weeks from typhoid fever. She was just 19 years old, was a bright and lovely young woman. She is survived by her mother, 1 brothers and 3 sisters. The funeral and interment v.as held at Mt. Carmel on Friday, Mr. Aycock, officiating.
