Miss Annie Nolen has been elec ted to represent the local chapter of the U. D. C’s, at the state con vention, which convenes at West Point on Nov. 4th and sth. Miss Nolen is an enthusiastic find patri otic member of the local chapter and it is safe to say that she will ably represent the local chapter at this state meeting. The West Point chapter, with almost a liun drod members have recently erec ted a confederate monument at a cost of $600.00 while the chapter that Miss Nolen will represent has only 30 members and they are to erect a $2,000.00 monument, the larger part of the funds, having already been secured. McDonough is justly proud of the local chapter of the U. D. Cs, and it is probably that no chapter in the state have as much genuine enthusiasm as that of this chanter of McDonough Opened.
