About Speed Limit.
Mr. Editor. We notice that the
city council of our thriving little
town of McDonough has passed an
automobile ordinance, governing
the speed ol automobiles, and we
think this is a move in the right
direction. The. town has several
good ordinances that are being
rigidly enforced, one of which is
the dog ordinance, Several
months ago, an ordinance was
passed by the council, to have all
dogs in the city limits muzzled for
the safety and protection of the
general public and it has worked
very successfully, having been
rigidly enforced by the proper at
tention.
The new automobile ordinance,
if enforced as rigidly as the
dog ordinance, will insure perfect
safety to those who remain at
home, and do not travel.

NOTICE.
To the white voters of Henry Co.
It has come to my ears that some
of my opponents have been circu
lating it around that I would with
draw from the Sherff’s race, which
I wish to deny, as I am in the race
to the finish.
Yours truly,
Milt, Walker.

and intimate friends.
The home was artistic with qu

Before the ceremony Misses

What’s the Difference.
Scene 1, —A half dozen negroes
or less assemble in a quit place in
the woods some Saturday night or
Sunday, and engage in some quiet
game of their choice, the stakes
being a nickel or u dime eaoh. The
horrid officers arrive, place them
under arrest, the grand jury re
turns a true bill, and the ocurt us
ually imposes a sentence of six
months or a SSO fine.
Scene 2.—White hoys and nogro
boys gambling on the streets of
Fairburn from early morn till
close of day, with marbles, the
stakes being marbles-value about
one half or a cent each, and the
officers pass by on the other side,
or stand and look on and wink at
it. School boys en route to and
from school stop and engage in
this gambling game. White boys

boys may be oalled on to serve on
juries to conviot these same negro
boys of-gambling: One white boy
boasted to the writer that he had
won over 100 marbles that after
noon-small things tis true, but
would not the principle have been
the same had he won a hundred, a
thousand, or a million dollars?

the city officials do their duty and
