Noble Lady Passes Away. Vlrs. Bettie Stroud Breathed Hei Last On Sunday, Mrs. Bettie Stroud yielded in ong fight with disease last Snn iay afternoon about 1 o’clock f j ler heme in McDonough. She had been suffering for n long time with paralysis, and her death was-not wholly unexpected Mrs. Stroud was 70years old and as known and admired fo her many excellent traits of character throughout our town and county. She was the mother of our ex cellent townsman, Mr. ,T M. Stroud and is sur vi ved by him and i other sons, W. F. Stroud, of Bn county, and Messrs O. T. and S. Stroud. of this county, and f< daughters Mrs T A. Barhe Mrs E B Bryans, Mrs. W. H Barham and Mrs. Tneodore Pb lips of this county. The funeral services were co ducted at Sardis Monday mornin at. 11 o'clock by the Rev. Mr. B ron, of Macon, and the remai were interred at Sardis bur ground. For a few cents the> jonld call up the merchant, law yer, doctor, or any other person ind transact, business instead of traveling miles and miles during the busy season through the heat, cold, or rain. They could do most of their buying and selling by phone. The lime is fast coming when a family in town or country who hasn’t a phone will get be hind in business affairs and there by lose more monev than it would •ost to have a phone. —Communi eated.
