MCDONOUGH HIGH SCHOOL HAPPENINGS The time is drawing near when we shall part for another summer’s vacation, and it will be a sad part ing for some, especially the “grad uates.” We also regret to note that we have lost a member of our Senior class, and the members appreciate the sympathy of a prominent mem ber of the Junior class. Miss Beyer was detained at home last week on account of sickness. Mrs. R. H. Hankinson was on the sick list this week. Our library is progressing rap idly. Some preparations are being made for commencement. All are contemplating a great success. We are hoping to see the class colors floating in a few days. Watch for the “blue*, and the gold.” Hickory Flat. Miss Beatrice Steele, of Griffin, spent last week with her brother, Mr. Joe Steele. Mrs. J. W. Branan visited her sister, of Flippen, Mrs. Tom Phil lips, last week. Misses Julia and Lucy Glass, of Tunis, spent Thursday night and Friday with Mrs. Jonce Branan. Mr. George Kelley and daughter, Mrs. Howard Morris, visited Mr. tnd Mrs. C. T. Elliott Friday. Little Lena Brannan spent Sat urday with his uncle, Master Louis Branan. Misses Kate Branan and Travie Lee Elliott spent the week end with friends at Locust Grove. Messrs. Tom McCullough and S. P. Love, of Flippen, passed t hrough here Wednesday. Mr. Joe Johnson and lovely daughter visaed relatives in this vicinity Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Rowan, who have been visiting relatives at Cul loden, returned home Saturday. Mrs. Usher Linton, of Stock bridge, spent r few days last week with her sistt •, Mrs. Charlie El liott. Messrs. Frank Crumbley and Floyd Elliott passed through Hick ory Flat Friday. Messrs. Earl and Jack Branan visited relatives here Friday. Misses Kate, Cora and Fannie Johnson, Dennis Fields and Mollie Steel, of near Salem, spent Tues day with Mrs. Joe Steele. Mr. G. 0. Branan visited Mr. J. B. Rowan Sunday evening. Misses Mary E. and Rachael El liott spent Saturday and Sunday with relatives in Stockbriuge.
