locals. Mr. E. D. Tolleson, of Jackson, was the guest of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. M. Tolleson, Sunday. The host of friends of post master Sam Dailey regret that he is very ill, and hope for his early restoration to health. Hon. S. C. McWilliams, of Stock bridge, was a visitor to our city this week during the sessions of court. Mrs. Willie Rowan is visiting friends in Jackson. Tuesday he left for Gadsden, Alabama, to report to the base-ball team of that city, in the Southeastern League. He ex pects to do the catching for that team. Several automobile parties from McDonough and vicinity attended the base-ball games between the Ga. Tech and Mercer colleges at Griffin Friday and Saturday. Fri day’s parties were: Messrs. H. M. Turner, Henry Amis, Adam Sloan, and Arthur Bowden, in Mr. Amis’ car; and Messrs. D. T. Carmichael, Ike Woodruff, Henry Woodward, Talmadge Thompson, in Mr. Car michael’s car. Saturday’s parties were: Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Turn er, Miss Bess Fouche, Judge Paul Turner, and Messrs. Hughie Turn er, and Fred Walker; in Judge Turner’s car; and Messrs. Henry Amis, J. O. Middleton, Lloyd Far ris, and John Alexander, in Mr. Amis’ car. Mrs. J. E. Knott left Wednesday for her home at Neal, after a months’ visit to Mr. and Mrs, IL B. Neal and other relatives here. Mr. Harvey Carmichael has re turned home after spending a few days in LaGrange attending the session of the Atlanta Presbytery. H. M. Tolleson, Jr., is quite ill with pneumonia. Mr. Park Dallas, of Atlanta, spent Sunday here. Mr. Q. R. Nolan spent Sunday at home. Mrs. John A. Simpson and Miss Edythe White were shopping in Atlanta Saturday. Mrs. John A. Simpson and child ren will leave Saturday forDaniels ville, to visit her parents, till the return of Mr. Simpson from New York. Mr. Carl Sloan, of the Georgia School of Technology, spent the last week-end at. home as the guest of his parents, Mr. and Mrs.' T. A. Sloan. Mr. Grover Clark was seen going his usual way Sunday. Miss Annie Mae Milam visited Mrs. Will King Monday. Mr. and Mrs. S. W. Barr spent Tuesday night with his sick broth er, Mr. Emory Barr. Quite a small crowd was at church Sunday at Hickory Flat. Fig Tree. Locust Grove Institute. Prof. Gray made a business trip to Atlanta Monday. Mr. Solon B. Cousins, of Monte zuma, was on the campus Wednes day, shaking hands with friends. The Sixth District High School meet at Birnesville last Friday was a success in every detail. The L. G. I. delegation Scquitted itself creditably. Miss Hettie Barton won the music medal, Miller Wood brought back the best all-round athlete prize, Miss Annie Delle Peek and F. A. Sams won second place in the reading and essay contests respectively. Robert Mann was given third place in the declamation contest. Locust Grove won second place in the relay race, Gordon came first.
