Of course we have sometimes had to revise our ideas on this question after consulting our parents. But the trouble in most cases has not been that we \ 6re not allowed to do what we desired to do, for the American boy has not had much difficulty in that line. But the great fault lies in the fact that neither our elders nor we have known what we realy want and so we have not had their aid in securing the k'euine arid worthy Wants of the hoy’s heart. Very often the parent has for gotten his own childhood and so is not acquainted with that of his -child; and the child himself is a stranger to childhoo' in its noblest meaning and so does not appreciate it and its deeper joys and privileges. The lack lies in the n ah’s loss of the childlike spirit and so of his power, by again being a boy with the boys, of aiding them to use i; full measure the opportunities ot boyhood. He is no longer a boy with the boys. sßut a b.e -sed solution of tin problem has been found. It us found iii ih<* organization known as the BO / SCOUIS Oi AMERICA. This organization is religious but non-sectanau and does no, und< Caket< s antthe activities ■o ’other orga. n ations, but lathvi to supplement theia. In its resuits tais movement lia a wonderful record. Organizing less than three years ago, it has rapidly spread ovet the entire c u.ary and no a num bers a million members, scattere . in every section. Many of t. 1 boy scouts have 1 performed heroic deeds of !iu saving, which they learned in their training as scouts, Manx have saved houses and homes from burning before the f.i'e de partment could reach the scene. And all kinds of heroic deeds are to their credit With it all is taught one su preme duty, obedience to author ity. The movement has just begun a: i is destined to embrace every ci nmunity in the country where tl. re are boys. PEARL’S BIBLE QUESTION ANSWERED BY “READER.” The Henry County Weekly, McDonough, Ga. Gentleman:- I read with interest the different letters from your writers about the country, and especially the letters from “Happy tiapenings.” Recently I noticed a question asked as to who Cain married after he h d slain his brother Abel. I haven’t as yet noticed any one answering this question, and as a Biole reader, i would say that there is no direct answer to the question. But, we can get a good idea if we look at it in this way: After Cain had slain his brother Abel, he left from the presence of the Lord and dwelt in the land of Nod. He must have stayed there for a long time, as we understand that Adam and Eve were the first on earth, and then Cain and Abel. So it necessitated his being there until Adam had gotten to be old. \Ve will notice that Adam lived an hundred and thirty years, and be gat a son, in his own likeness, after his own image, (Gen. 5-3) and called his name Seth. And the days of Adam after he had begotten. Seth were eight hundred years, and he begat Sons and Daughters, and all the years that Adam lived was nine hundred aid thirty years, and he died. We will now go to Gen. 6-1., and will see “that when men he rn n to multiply on the face of the earth, a d daughters were born unto them." And the Sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair, and they look them wives of all which they chose. So, with these facts in front of us, xve are led to believe that Cain was one that married the “daughters of men.” We have no record that he was not one of the ft w that 1 xisted in those days. We lm\v questions all through ae bibb-, th y have not all direct mswers to them, but it is made chin, and as he scripture sayeth: ‘ v .it ch the scriptures” as in them I ,ve think we have eternal life. \s for instance: “How shall we j -scape if we neglect so great sal vation? And, if the righteous scarely be saved, where shall the sinner appeal ?” So as it is impossible for God to lie, and knowing that Cain really married, xve must suppose, that he married one of “the daugh- Itirs of men,” as above stated. We must admit further that Cain’s seed xvere righteous, as Enoch was liis son, and Enoch walked i xvith tjuu. The ages of men in those days was about nine hundred years, and it is easy to suppose that Cain could have lived in the land of Nod for a long time, and then taken unto himself a wife.
