Happy Happenings. Well, it seems like everybody in this lacality is building and re pairing his house. Mr. W. T. Stanfield is erecting a new veran da and ceiling his tiouse. Mr. H. F. Stanfield is building a new house near Lovejoy. Mr. Si Bar nett has erected a new room to his dwelling. Mr. and Mrs. Willie Stanfield and Miss Ruby Scott, of the Gate City, visited Mr. and Mrs. R. F. Stanfield and family and Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Stanfield Sunday, Sun day night, and Monday, and sev eral of this vicinity went picnick ing to Edwards pond Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Medlock are entertaining a new visitor, a little girl, little Bessie May. Mr. Hatlie Stanfield and sister, Miss Lillian, and Miss Ruby Scott, of Atlanta, Misses Mary Jim Wal lace, Susie Stanfield, Mr. Otis Em mett, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Dorsey, and Mr. and Mrs. Am Mitchell at tended the big singing at Sunny Side Sunday. Miss Vera Barnett and Mr. Way man Barnett have returned home, after attending a2O days’ singing school at Riverd.de. Wouldn't it be great if we of this community couid have singing schools and Sundav Schools out it seems that Satan says no in every way. 1 want to say to the good people, for 1 know we have them and people who are intelligent, I fear and fear as the prophets of old, when they warned the people to flee from Satan and his many wicked wiles, although I am no prophet. But 1 have the Bible, which 1 know says we should study it and learn it, for it b Its us of our Sav ior and his teachings and what he wants us to do. I fear we are sleeping to wake up and find it is too late to teach the children to pray or take any interest in the works of God. That is something you never hear uilked of. No, oh no! It is all .about the crops, money, fine dressing, and the wrong things our neighbor has done. How sad u is to hear a neigh bor talk about another one, but, when the oilier person steps in, you cold not tell that a word of harm had ever been spoken of him. Wouldn’t it he better by far alwav to try to rescue those wiio have alien than to give ear to the latest gossip about them and pass it on? 1 expect to be answered for writing this but 1 am willing to take it all. Con e, all ye writers, and give your Views. How many parents evei nad their bitPes arm pray iu lb pres ence ct their children? And then, if their child* < n curse or use had words or drink or play those aw ful games, whieh we know, if started in the parlors or around the fireside, are liable to lead the m to worse. That is all right, though, for they hav e to be in style, we hear so many say. If they see any per son who doesn’t own anything or is not dressed up, be is no good. Tell me, Bible reader, is it the out ward appearance that makes the person or the inward? You sec some people, when their rich kin v sit them, put on all kinds of airs and get their best chairs, but if th poorer kin go in thev don’t reany know they are there, or are pe.haps ashamed to let others know that they are re lated to them at all, when maybe they are the better of the two. There is too much one-sided or two-sided doings in this old world. 1 am like the person who said we need missionaries. I do believe we need some one to teach am explain to us. I shall ask a question in the new testament. There i s a verst which says: “Call not man your father upon the earth, for one is your father which is in heaven."—Matthew, 23-9. Now explain this to me: does it mean not to call your earthh father father? Bible Reader, I thank you very much for your compliment in say ing you like to read my writings. 1 certainly did appreciate your an swering my question arid hope you or someione else will answer this one. If this one is answered I shall ask another one and give some Scripture verses on how we should treat our fellow man. I would like to know who Bible Reader is. I shall write some more on this subject if this is printed. Pearl. WHEN IN ATLANTA EAT AT Eliot’s QUICK LUNCH, 1(15 Pryor Street Quick, clean service Moderate prices GOOD COFFEE E. W. Roberts, Mgr.
