Editor Henry County Weekly, McDonough, Ga. Dear Sir: I notice in last week’s paper where onr friend a t Lovejoy seems to think that I was a little off the track when I mentioned that Adam and Eve were the first beings on the earth, in my attempt lo answer Pearl’s Bible question. He uses Scripture prove that they were not the first on the earth. Now, the Scriptures were not made to disgree on but to agree upon. So we shall take the same Scriptures that he used and shall see beyond all question of doubt that Adam and Eve were the first human beings upon the earth. He quotes a part of the first chapter of Genesis; this alone would lead one to think that there were men on the earth before Adam. He then quotes the sec ond chapter of Genesis, the first and second verses; he then skips to the sixth verse and, by s) do ing, he leaves out the strongest proof of the whole chapter, as in the fifth verse we have this lan guage: “There was not a man to till the ground.” And again he stops too soon, as we will find in the third chapter and twentieth verse this Scripture: “Eve mother of all living.” And again, we shall fi id in the new testament, writted by that in spired writer of God, this Scrip ture (First Timothy, 2-13): “For Adam was first formed, then Eve.” Again, First Corinthians, 45th vere: “And so it is written the first man Adam was made a living soul.” I think this is conclusive proof that Adam and Eve were tile first on the earth. lam proud, how ever, that our brother is taking interest along this line, and 1 am willing at all times to swap opin ions with him or any one else through the columns of The Weekly. In this way 1 think we can make it mutual. With best wishes to The Week ly and all its readers, l am Y .urs truly, “A Reader.” RULES FOR COLORED TRI COUNTY SCHOOL FAIR.
