The Henry County Weekly VOL. XXXVII MONSTER MASS MEETING in McDonough Christmas. The Whole Town W ill Meet at Court House Thursday Afternoon Of Christmas Week. McDonough board of trade originates the ieda AND WILL FURNISH SOME OF THE TALK. McDonough means to “get together” during the coming Christmas holidays better than it has done heretofore. To that end the McDon ough Board of Trade has called a great meeting of the entire town and district, ladies and gentlemen, for Thursday afternoon, th 3 26th instant, at 3 o’clock. The meeting will be in the court room of the court house. Everybody in McDonough town and district and even the “stranger within our gates” is urged to attend. The Board of Trade will tell the people what they want, and they want to hear from the people what they think about it and what the people want. Then these people will be expected to come into the Board of Trade and help secure these things. The Chairman of every Committee will tell what his Committee plans to do, or he will designate some member of the Committee to do so for him. And the citizens who are not membere are expected to respond and help us by saving something. Every member of the Board of Trade is a Committee of one to see every person he can urge them to come. Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Bledsoe spent Friday night with the lat ter’s sister, Miss Ola Whitaker. Mrs. Carl Lewis was called to Griffin Wednesday to the bed side of her brother, Mr. Arthur Mintz. Misses Lillie Mae and Daisy Stewart w, ere the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Stewart near Jackson Sunday. Mr. W. C. Woods made a busi ness trip to Union City Saturday. We are glad to note that Mr. Dave Moore is convalescing from a serious illness. Mr. J. V. Upchurch had the misfortune to get his chicken house and about 40 chickens burned Saturday night. Mrs. J. F. Wall spent Monday in Atlanta. MR. L. D. MOORE YIELDS TO DEATH. Prominent and Popular Citizen of Locust Grove Passed Away Sunday. «*. Mr. L. D. Moore died at his home in Locust Grove Sunday night at 8:30 o’clock, after several weeks’ illness. Mr. Moore was a genial and en terprising gentleman and had many friends in Henry and other counties where his business had carried him, which he had made by his kindly and considerate deal ings. The funeral services were held at the residence Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock. The interment was at Beersheba. The Rev. J. A. Drewrv conducted the services. Mr. Moore leaves jiis wife: four daughters, Mrs. Robert Walker, of Henry county; Mrs. Mcllheny, of Monticello; and Misses Lucy Moore and Jane Moore, of Locust Grove: and two sons; Messrs. Harper Moore and George Moore, of Hen ry County. MR. HAYDEN BOND HEARS DEATH'S CALL. Aged and Excellent Ellenwood Citizen Died Tuesday Morn ing at One O'clock. Mr. Hayden* Bond breathed his last Tuesday morning at 1 o’clock at his home in Ellenwood. He 75 years of age and had been ill for some time. Mr. Bond was an excellent and capable citizen and had hosts of friends in Clayton and adjoining counties who will be saddened by his going away. The funeral and interment were at Cedar Grove Wednesday morn ing at 10:30 o’clock, Rev. Mr. Mc- Daniel officiating. Mr. Bond is survived by his wife: five daughters; Mrs. Mollie Mat thews, of DeKalb county; Mrs. Sal lie Lambdin, of Atlanta; and Misses Nannie Bond and Maggie Bond, of Ellenwood: and four sons; Messrs. John Bond, George Bond, Coe Bond, of Ellenwood, and Buck Bond, of Atlanta. FAIR VIEW. The sick of this community are improving rapidly. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Chappell visited Mrs. Joe Walker, who is quite ill, last Sunday. Mr. C. S. Goodman and daugh ter, Miss Grace, spent last Sunday with Mr. J. H. Carr and family. Mr and Mrs. J. J, Bunn visited their daughter, Mrs. J. A. Wells, last Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. P. K. Chappell spent last Sunday with their par ents, Mr. and Mrs. Milt Walker. Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Copeland spent last Sunday with Mrs. Mary Copeland- Mr. Cloma Morris and sisters, Misses Myrtle and Rosalie, visited Miss Helen Carr last Saturday night.
