WALKING CLUB WALKS
ALL WAY TO ATLANTA.
Five Complete Trip. Russ
Elliott Records Num
ber of Cross Ties.
The McDonough Walking Club
has executed its threat to hike to
Atlanta.
Five accomplished this feat last
Sunday. They were: Messrs.
Grady Ingram, Russell Elliott,
Glenn Bowden, Boce Elliott, and
Harry Greer.
They left early without break
fast and dined at Rex. They
walked cn in to Five Points and
had a little time left before catch
ing the evening train for their re
turn home.
Mr. Russell Elliott literally count
ed the cross ties. He says that the
ties between McDonough and At
lanta number 81,644, —a pretty
good day’s count. He says there
are also 16 trestles.
The big dam on the Ocmulgee
is their next goal, and that will be
a long .valk too, for they must
walk some distance back to reach
the railroad.
