REX. The farmers of this community have been ploughing some for the past week. Mr. and Mrs. Marion Patillo spent Sunday with Mrs. G. W. Bradberry. Mrs. Will Powell returned Fri day from a visit of several da>s to her daughter, Mrs. Henry Toney, in Rockdale county. Mr. Grady Estes, of Atlanta spent Saturday in Rex. Misses Annie May, Lela, and Lizzie Milam were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Will Callahan, of near Ellenwood, Saturday night and Sunday. Mr, and Mrs. Jim Riley, of Flip pen, were the guests of her moth er, Mrs. Jim Mitchell, Friday. Mrs. Emory Barr went to Atlan ta Tuesday. The Misses Flanders have occu pied a new boarding place at Mr. and Mrs. F. M. Sanders at Rex. Mr. R. E. Kyle attended court at Jonesboro this week. Mr. and Mrs. A. P. Adamson were the guests of their daughter, Mrs. Alice Barr, Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Estes ar rived in Rex Tuesday night from a pleasant trip to North Carolina. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Cowan, from llapeville, motored down last Sunday and attended services at The Rock. Mrs. T. M. Kirkland and Mrs. E. E. Milam spent Monday with Mrs. Kate Livingston at Stockbridge. We are having a fine Suuday School at Hickory Flat and hope it will still grow larger every Sun day. Come, everybody, and be good Sunday School workers. Mr. Mose Siepenson is the Super intendent of Our Sunday School and Mr. T. M. Sanders Chorister. Mr. and Mrs. Grover Clark were the guests of the latter’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Butler, Sun day. The party at Mr. Duffy’s Sat urday night was enjoyed by all present. Misses Lncile and Ruby Hand and brother, George, spent Sat urday night with their brother, Mr. W. T. Hand. Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Greer and Miss Pearl made a short call to Mr. R. H. Greer’s Saturday after noon. Messrs. W. T. Greer and Mr. W. T. Hand made a business trip to Hampton Saturday. Miss Myrtle Morris and Mr. Morton Steele called to see Miss Mary Lizzie Greer Sunday after noon. Mr. and Mrs. R. H. Greer and Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Greer visited Mr. and xMrs. J. T. L. and Hugh Craig. Mrs. D. D. Elliott and daughter, Elon, of Atlanta, spent the week end with her father, Mr. J. M. McGarity. Mr. J. E. Upchurch visited rela tives in Fairburn last week. Mr. and Mrs. Ector McGarity visited Mr. and Mrs. H. T. Jones Sunday afternoon. Mrs. H. A. Brown and Mrs. L. M. Joyner spent Tuesday with their mother, Mrs. J. A. Craig. Mr. Tink Berrv and family spent Saturday night with Mr. and Mrs. Green Upchurch. Miss Floy Wilson was absent from school last week on account of illness. Mr. and Mrs. Charley Mayo spent the week end with the lat ter’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Tye Wilkerson. Mr. A. W. McGarity visited Mr. J A. Craig Sunday morning. Miss Matilda Heath, of Butts county, is visiting relatives in this section. As news is scarce, I shall give the correspondents something to answer. Time Extended For Crosses of Honor. Those who read the proceedings of the meeting of the U. D. C. in the State Convention at Athens and also at the national conven tion in Washington City remem ber that, after some discussion on the subject, it was decided to ex tend the time for a few years at least of presenting crosses of honor, both to the veterans and their descendants. Therefore, any desiring Crosses of Honor on Memorial day, April 26th, should make application now and get blanks from Mrs. J. G. Smith. Cross Roads.
