Around Bethany. Spring time and rainy weather are here. You farmers had better hustle and get your garden ready, while the soil is dry. A garden is a good thing. Miss Cleo Dorton and her broth er, Mr. Albert, have returned home, after a short visit to Mrs. Sowell. Mrs. Jim Rawls had as her guests Monday Mrs. Green Up church, Mrs. Lon McGarity, and Miss Bertha McGarity. Mr. and Mrs. H. B. Rosser, spent Friday with Mr. and Mrs. Henry Rawls. Mrs. A. W. McGarity dined with Mrs. Lon McGarity Fri 'ay. The U. G. S. club met Friday afternoon and had a very inter esting program. The guests were: Misses Maggie and Jossie Rawls, Mrs. Rape, Mrs. Hardy. Mr. RalphCulpepper, wasabsant a few days last week from his school. We will be very glad to see him back again. We regret to hear ofMr. Fmmett Rosser’s illness over here at Mr. Crawford’s, but hope he will soon recover. Mr. Clint Crawford and 1 ttle brother, Delbert, gave Mr. Elbert Harrison a very short visit Sunday morning, and Mr. Elbert Harrison accompaned them home and dined with them. Ask Mr. and Mrs. Joe McGarity if they got disappointed Saturday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Rawls spent Friday night with Mr. John Smith and sister, Miss Lizzie. Mr. and Mrs. Dave Wilson spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Green Upchurch. Mr. and Mrs. V. YVilliams and little daghter visited Air. and Mrs. Crawford Sunday. Mr. Grady Morris made a busi ness trip to McDonough Saturday. Mr. Simeon Smith and sister, Mary, entertained a few of their friends Friday night at a candy pulling. Mr. Grady Morris had the mis fortune of losing a horse one night last week. Mr. Lem Wilson, of Atlanta, spent Sunday with home folk. Mrs. Frank ' Wyatt,' or near Union, is spending a few days with her mother, Mrs. Charlie Smith. Mrs. Jim Moseley spent Monday whh Mrs Minnie Starr. Misses Flavella and May Owen entertained a number of their friends Friday night at a valentine party. Misses Annie May and Mammie Hays called on Miss Mary Smith Friday.
