SPLENDID METHODIST MEET
INGS NOW IN PROGRESS.
Pastor Preaching Wiih Power.
Mr. Grenfell Conducting Fine
Singing—Good Attendance.
Protracted meetings began at
the McDonough Methodist church
with the regular eleven o’clock
services Sunday morning.
Sunday afternoon at 3:30 o’clock
there was a special service for
children, and this was very in
structive and well attended.
During the week there have
been two services each day, at 3
o’clock in the afternoon and at
7:30 in the evening.
The pastor, the Rev. H. S. Smith,
preaches at each service. He al
ways says something worth hear
ing and something of spiritual val
ue to every person. Sin is not
slighted after the modern fashion
of some, nor is Divine love de
based to the level of the mere
human.
Mr. B. G. Grenfell has charge of
the choir and the beautiful and
inspiring music and singing show
his splendid skill as a musician
and choir leader.
Already the town feels profited
by the services and, as they con
tinue, we are sure their fruits will
be an increase in our spiritual re
sources.

GRAND JURY TAKES ACTION FOR HIGHWAY.
Because of the superior induce

work necessary, the White House
ronte has been selected as the one
which will be offered to the Dixie
Highway commissioners for Hen
ry county as the best one for the
tourists’ highway.
Several thousand dollars have
already been subscribed by land
! owners residing along that route
and the work of securing
script ons has just begun.
Commissioner Bryans has also
agreed to do the work necessary
to straighten out and otherwise
improve this route. Commission
er Freeman of D-Kalb county also
promises to build a road through
his county over the route selected
through DeKalb, and likewise the
Clayton county authorities agree
to furnish an improved roadway
through that county.

We are to have this road built in

But work and co-operation can

The grand jury of Henry county
last week also recommended that
the county authorities co-operate
with our citizens in securing this

Shall we make the necessary
