Round About News. Mr. and Mrs. Luther Jarrett and family attended tlie funeral of Mrs. Jarrett’s sister Saturday, which took place at Tanner’s church. Mr, Robert Brown of Orchard Hill was mingling with old friends in this section Sunday and Mon day. Misses Annie and Rosa Jarrett spent several days last week with their sister. Mrs. R. M. Barr, who has had an attack of lagrippe. Miss Nellie Jones is sick at this writing, but we hope for her a speedy recovery. Mr. and Mrs. B. W. Walden and family and Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Mays and family and Messrs. Grant and Askew attended the funerai of Mrs. Walden’s brother, Mr. W. B. Bowden of Jenkirra burg, which took place at Phila delphia church Friday morning. Mrs. B. W. Walden and daugh ters, Misses Frances and Carolyn, attended services’al Bethel Sun day morning. Mr. and Mrs. Will Turner are making their home with the lat ter’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Whitley. Mrs. T. W. Jarrett, Sr., has been ill with lagrippe, but her friends hope she will soon be entirely well again. Miss Harriett Clark and Mr. H. L. Bellah attended Sunday school at Morris Grove last Sunday, Mrs. Greene Gibson has been ill last week, but her friends hope she will soon be able to be up again. Mrs. J. W. Evans has been the guest of her daughter, Mrs. H. M. Foster, of near McDonough last week. Miss Annie Palmer of Union City, who has been the guest of her sister, Mrs. Parker Mitchell, of old Stockbridge for the past few weeks, returned home Sun day. Fairy Fay. Gordon Mr. Jack Frost called on us again the past week. Mesdames Martha Austin and C. W. Gardner and children visited their parents, Mr. and Mrs. S. K. Austin, Monday. Miss Mary Turpin is spending a while A'ith her sister, Mrs. H. W. Minor, at Fast Atlanta. ■ Mr. Clarence Scarbrough spent Sunday with home people. Miss Cecil McKenzie, teacher of Mt. Zion school, who has been sick a week or two, has resumed her duties. Mrs. John Hughs is spending a while with her son, Mr. C. R. Thurman. Mrs. Roy Richardson and chil dren of near Union, spent Mon day with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dave George. M'sses Annie and Irene Mitchell and Miss Ida Mae Moseley-spent Sunday with Misses Eva and Ju lia Stanfield. Mr. Nelse Pair paid McDonough a business trip last Wednesday. Mrs. Joe Ray of Union visited her daughter, Mrs. Ben Turpin, last week. Messrs. J. J. and 0. B. Turpin made a business trip to Atlanta Saturday. Mr. Joe Thurman of Fayette county is visiting his home peo ple. Mrs Ed Stephens of Atlanta, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Martin of this place, was buried at Tanner’s Church last Saturday morning. Norton and Mrs. Mark Turner dined with Mr. and Mrs. Nicholls Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. T. O. Callaway, Mr. B. C. Bright and Mr. Henry West.attended the lecture of Mrs. Atkins at the Methodist church in Hampton Sunday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Bunn had as their guests Sunday, Mr. W. R. Steele and family, Mr. and Mrs. H. A. Steele and Misses Estelle Castellaw and Dollie Henderson, and Leone and Florence Moss and Annie Mae Steele. Mr. Joe Fields and Miss Maggie Westmoreland are spending a few days with relatives in Florida. Mr. J. T. Weems of McDonough spent Friday arid Saturday out on his farm near Cross Roads, hav ing his land surveyed. Miss Lonie Hendersen is spend ing a few days with relatives near Whitehouse. We are sorry to know that Mr. E. W. Barnett’s family are ail suf fering with lagrippe, Hope they will soon be well again. Miss Ethel Coker and Mr. Otis Love surprised their many friends with a leap year marriage Sunday. Phillippi News. We are having some pretty weather again. Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Childs from Jenkinsburg spent Sunday after noon with Misses Blake and Matt Childs. A large crowd attended prayer meeting Sunday night. Mr. and Mrs. T. N. Crumbley spent Sundav with Mr. R. C, Crumbley and family. Miss Blanche Childs and Mr. Harrison Gunn motored to Daniel school house Sunday afternoon. Misses Georgia, Mary Lou and Alice McKibben went to McDon ough last Saturday to attend Mr. Q. A. Dickson’s funeral. Large crowd out riding Sunday afternoon. We are sorry to say Mr. Jim mie Jinks has pneumonia fever. Mr. W. J. McKibben and little son Don spent Sunday with Mr. Alonzo Chafin. Misses Gertrude and Maggie Cofer, from near Snapping Shoals spent Saturday night and Sunday with Miss Jennie Childs. Mr. and Mrs. Van McKibben spent Sunday with Mr. J. T. Bear den and family. Mr. and Mrs. V. D. Jinks spent Sunday with Mr. Lawrence Crum biey and family. Miss Alice Mckibben has gone over into Sandy Ridge again this week to help Mrs. Leona McKib ben with her school. Blue Eyes. South Avenue. Rev. Walter Carmichael filled his regular appointment at Bethel Saturday and Sunday. Mr. Jim Thomaston died at his home in East Atlanta last Wednes day.
