Towaliga News. Mr. and Mrs. William Braswell of Concord, were week-end visi tors of their nephew, Mr. Belma Jordan. Mrs. Wyatt Henley visited Mrs. B. F. Collins last week. The infant son of Mrs. Paul Thaxton has been real sick. The handsome residence of Mr. and Mrs. Pelham Wallace is almost completed. We regret to have this excellent couple leave our community, but wish them much success in their new home on the Griffin-Jackson highway. Little Miss Mae Henley and brother Gilbert, visited their aunt, Mrs. J. E. Parham, of Ringold, re cently. Mr. Gordon Patrick is expecting to build a handsome residence soon. Mr. L. W. Pdlin is the latest purchaser of an automobile. Mr. and Mrs. I). C. Gailliard have been in Atlanta for a few days. Miss Nora Gaiiiiai'd was the guest of Mrs. Howard Gardner of Locust Grove last week. Several from this community attended the funeral of Mr. Henry Knott at Locust Grove last week. Mrs. N. E. McKinley spent Thursday with Mrs. J. H. Heflin. Mr. Henry Taylor has put in a telephone from Locust Grove. Candidates have begun to call in this community. Mr. Marion Pritchett is receiv ing congratulations upon his ap proaching wedding to Miss Nannie Jarrell, of Juliette. The wedding to take place at the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Jarrell, on March 12th, at 3 o’clock. Mr. Oscar Sims spent Saturday at Jenkinsburg. Delegate At Large Judge E. J. Reagan, chairman of the State Democratic Executive Committee, has been indorsed by the Henry county committee for delegate at large from the State of Georgia to the National Demo cratic Convention, which meets in June. Politics, politics, is all the news. All the members of Bethany church are requested to be pres ent next Saturday the 19th, as the roll of membership will be called on that day. Quite a large crowd attended Sunday School at this place last Sunday, if the weather was a lit tle rough, and everyone is invited to come back and bring somebody with you. Miss Bessie Rosser, who has been with her aunt, Mrs. I. P. Ros ser, since Christmas, has returned to her home near Locust Grove, her aunt being much improved, we are glad to note. Miss Lillie Craig spent the week end with Mrs. Trevie Bailey. Mr. Red Ricks happened to a right painful but not serious acci dent one day last week. He was hauling wood, when his mule be came frightened and threw him from the wagon, breaking one hand and spraining the other with other slight bruises, but we hope he will soon be all right again. We regret to note the illness of the infant of Prof, and Mrs. Bail Elliott. Mr. Observer, we want to give you a hearty welcome. Come as often as you can. R. T. Anvil Block. Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Clark of Bethel spent Tuesday with Mr. and .Mrs. Y. C. H. Adamson. Mrs. George Chafin and chil dren were the guests of Mrs. Bob Berry at Mr. Zion Saturday. Miss Mary Mayo spent the week end at East Point with home folks. Mrs. W. I. Mitchell and little daughter Grace spent Wednesday and Thursday at Lovejoy with relatives. Mr. A. H. Blackman has pur chased a new auto. Miss Mollie Riley of Mt. Zion is visiting her sister here, Mrs. C. W. Sock well. Mrs. C. W. Sockwell, who has been visiting her sister at Deca tur, has returned home. We had a good race here Sat urday —a young lady racing wiifi an auto. I’ll guarantee the young lady won the race. Sally Ann. B. graduate of Emory College with two summers post graduate work ; that I have taught school sixteen years, eight in the rural schools and. eight in town schools, and 1 have tauglit seven years in Henry county. If I am electen I propose to spend three days in the week visiting and teaching mainlv in the rural schools. 1 find that there is a lack of unity in grading the rural schools which 1 would endeavor to correct.
