SCHOOL COLUMN
( Owing to th« Institute last week
I could not visit but two schools.
However, to see all of the teach
ers in (he county together and to
hear them engage in planning for
even greater school interests and
school results in the future, was
very encouraging. The experts,
Miss Parrish. Mr. Duggan and Mr.
Hart, were so enthusiastic and en
tertaining. We wish to thank the
ladies or Locust Grove, Hampton.
Stoekbridge, Kellytown and Mc-
Donough for the sumptuous din
ners served to teachers and visit-
or-.
Now for a good time for the
balance of the term. Look for
honor rolls, and good closing ex
ercises. I shall be to see some of
the schools soon.
T. J. Horton.
ROCKY BRANCH SCHOOL
Dear Mr. Horton : We enjoyed
your visit very much but it was
not long enoug. You must come
back soon and stay long enough
to look at our honor roll and our
written work that is on exhibit.
We are always glad when we
can get a star* by our name for the
week because that means we
haven’t been absent nor received
a cross mark for bad conduct.
Miss Annie cails us her star pupils
and, of course, we all want to be
star pupils.
Our best written work is put
up where all can see it.
We haven’t forgotten what you
told us about each day’s being a
clean page in our lives. We hope
to make each page better than the
one before.
The boys want to play ball with
you again.
We are planning to have a short
program for the end of school.

Howard. I think she is one of the
'Wst teachers. She is at work all
the time with her pupils. We
have a right nice play ground, and

house is near the church and close
