The Second Com ing of Christ. By MRS. ETHEL COKER. Before writing anything on this subject, I wish to say. I have not made an exhaustive studv of the subject, but that I am ready and eager to learn all 1 can from those who love His appearing, and I shall be glad to change any views expressed in this writing; when scriptural reason can be Dointed out sufficient for the change. I shall let this be Dublished for the sake of some my friends who have asked me for references as to how Jesus will return. Let’s think back for a moment; how He left the earth. He and His deciples were on the Mountain' called Olivet, and Jesus was talk- ing with them and when he finish ed speaking he was taken up; and a cloud received Him out of their sight and while they looDed stead fast toward heaven as He went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel; and said unto them, why stand ye gazing up unto the heavens ? The same Jesus which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen Him go up into heaven, Acts 1:12-10-11. And what did He tell them He must go for? Let not your heart be troubled : Ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my house are many mansions. If it were not so I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you unto Myself, that where 1 am there you may be also. John 14: This is the words of our Master and it can never fail. Just so sure as Jesus was born into the world to redeem it from sin, just so sure is His return to this earth. You will find 25 references as to His birth, trials and suffering in the old tes t-orient, which was written years before Jesus was born. I do not believe the people in general study enough about this subject, nor do I think preachers tell them enough about it to create a desire to knew about the beauties awaiting the ones who are faithful, and the trials and trouble that awaits the unbeliever. The people of today are still asking the same question they asked Jesus so many years ago. How shall we know when the end of time is? Jesus with his deciples were traveling and sat down to rest on Mount Olivet and Jesus began to tell them of the future and what would take place before the end of time, and what they must do, when some one asked this question, Master when shall these things be? Luke 21 ;7. He said, Take heed that ye be not deceived : for many shall come in my name, saying I am Christ, go ye not after them but know the end draweth near. And when ye shall hear of wars and commo tions, be not terrified: for these things must first come to pass. Nation shall rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom, great earthquakes in divers places, and famine and pestilence; fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven. Ye shall be be trayed both by parents and breth ren, kinfolks and friends; and in the 25 verse, And upon the earth distress of nations with perplexity; the sea and waves roaring; men’s hearts failing them for fear, and looking after those things which are coming on the earth : for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. Isn’t this true prophecy of today ? Are not the people in general more concerned about our nation’s welfare than they are about our souls? and now what he says will take place? Then shall they see the son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory and when these things begin to come to pass: look up, lift up your heads, for your redemption is near at hand. He did not rebuke the de cipies as some think he did, but rather explained to them that they must not seek for a sign, but' be ever ready with fear and trembl ing, always trusting in the Lord, for He will come at an hour when ye think not, as a thief in the night, and no man knoweth when He shall come, not even the angels which are in heaven, but He gave them a parable to solve. “When you see the buds of the fig tree putting forth leaves, you know' that summer is near, and when we see these things coming to pass, ought we not to know the end of time is near at hand?” Jesus was conversing with twelve different men, with twelve differ ent minds. Who would form twelve different ideas and opinions of the meaning of His words; so you will find Matthew’s inspiration of this same conversation in Mat thew, 24 : beginning with the third verse, the 15th verse reads thus : “When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy places who so readeth let him understand.” This verse | refers to Daniel 8: beginning with the 15th verse, this chapter tells : what tiie Angel Gabriel revealed ; unto Daniel and how that in the ! latter days, a king of fearce couti- 1 tenance and understanding dark senteneces, shall stand up and his power shall be mighty, but not by his own power: and he shall de stroy wonderfully: “Now what king or ruler could imitate this wicked ruler more than the Kaiser of Germany ? Who is causing so much olood shed and destroying so many lives today. And when the good people of today have borne the tortues of war, withstood the trials and troubles, and overcome the temptation of this life and can say in true faith, as Job 11:25 said: When he was bereft of children, forsaken of wife, upbraided bv friends and deprived of health, 1 know that my Redeemr liveth and that He shall stand at the latter days upon the earth, and though after skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God; whom I snail see for myself and mine eyes shall behold and n.d another.” I think Jesus will ap pear in the air, in like manner as He ascended with such a great light, that the sun will be darken ed by it and the dead in Christ, or the righteous dead, will rise up, and this is the first resurrection spoken of in 1 Thes. 4; 16-17-18 verses. Blessed are they who have a part in the first resurrecl tion; and Lo, we shall not al weep, (or die) but wili be chang ed in a moment, at the twinkling of an eye. That is the Christian who is living and who is ready to meet the Bridegroom when He shall appear in the air. (To be continued) Boschees German Syrup. Physicians all over the world are pre scribing phosphates to build up run down enemie conditions and those who have treated their patients with Argo-Phosphate are changing thin, enemie women with toneless tissues, flabby flesh, into the most beautiful rosy cheeked and plump round women imaginable. Atlanta, Ga.—Dr. Jacobson said in a recent interview that 90 per cent of enemia comes from nervous break down which can only be corrected by supplying the necessary phosphates to the nervous system that is lacking in the food you eat, and this can be quickly supplied by taking one or two 5-grain Argo-Phosphate tablets after each meai, and at bed time. It will in many cases make a pale scrawny face tne picture of health in a few days. I have seen women that I expected would have to be kept under treat ment for months restored to perfect health in one or two weeks times. SPECIAL NOTICE.—The Argo- Phosphate recommended by Dr. F. H. Jacobson contains phosphates such as are prescribed by leading physicians throughout the world, and it will be found the most effective form for treating patients with Nervous Dys- Depsia, Stomach Troubles, Brain Fag, Nervous Prostration. It will renew youthful vim and vigor, and build up the whole body. If your druggist will not supply you with Argo-Phosphate, send SI.OO for two weeks treatment, to Argo Laboratories, 10 Forsyth St., Atlanta, Ga. Notice.
