OLD TIME ENGINEER
GAINS 20 POUNDS
Wouldn’t Take All Money in
Universe for Good Tanlac
Did Him —Is Second Olde^f
Man in Point of Service
With S. A. L. R. R.
Everybody in Jacksonville eith
er knows or has heard of Engin
eer Chas. J. Weeks, who runs the
Seaboard Air Line fast train “Fox”
between Jacksonville and Tampa.
Mr. Weeks bears the distinction of
being the second oldest engineer
in point of service with his road,
having been with the company
for thirty-three years. He is a
man of very temperate habits, few
words and strong convictions.
According to his own statement he
has never taken a drink or used
tobacco in any form. He not only
has a splendid record for effici
ency as a railroad man, but is held
in the very highest esteem by his
fellow citizens in Jacksonville.
“I’ve gained twenty pounds on
seven bottles of Tanlac and feel
as well and happy as I did when a
boy,” said Mr. Weeks to the Tan
lac representative who had called
by special invitation at his attrac
tive residence, 2139 Lydia street.
“For twenty years I suffered
with nervous indigestion of the
worse sort,” he continued, “and at
times during the past fifteen years
I didn’t think I would last much
longer. To tell you the truth, I
finally reached the point I
didn’t much care whether I lived
or died.
“After eating I would have so
much gas on my stomach and
would get so puffed up I couldn’t
hardly fasten my clothes on. My
food would sour and curdle, and I
would have heartburn so bad I
would feel like a piece of hot iron
was laving in my stomach, and
the pains were simply awful. To
tell you the truth, I just don’t
know how I lived. I could eat no
meats or sweets of any kind, and
for days I would have to live al
most entirely on bread and water.
God only knows how I suffered !
I just can’t describe it. The pains
around my heart and the palpita
tion were so intense I thought at
times I must have heart trouble,
too. I couldn’t find anything to
relieve my troubles, although I
tried hard.
“Tanlac was so highly recom
mended to me that I bought a bot
tle and cannot express in words
how grateful I feel for the good it
has done me. Just think of it—a
few bottles of this medicine has
made me feel better than I have in
fifteen years —it seems almost un
believeable, but it’s the plain, sim
pie truth. I can now eat anything
placed before and everything
agrees with me perfectlv, and I
enjoy my sleep as much as a child,
and I’m feeling just fine in every
way. I feel so nimble I think I
could hold a good runner a tight
foot-race.
“Tanlac has entirely relieved me
of the thing that troubled me so
long, and I just don’t know how
to express my gratitutde. I
wouldn’t be in the same shape I
was in before for all the money in
the universe.
“If anybody doubts my state
ment you can just tell them to
write me a personal letter and I’ll
answer it. I’ll be only too glad to
have the opportunity of telling
them what this great medicine has
done for me.”
Tanlac is sold in McDonough by
The McDonough Drug Co., and by
one established agency in every
town.
NOVEMBER THE FOURTH
IS SUNDAY SCHOOL DAY
All Sunday Schools in Geor
gia on That Day Seek to
Bring in Recruits.
Sunday, November 4th, is “In
ternational Go-To-Sunday School
Day,” and will be observed in the
states of the Union and the Pro
vinces of Canada. It is an inter
denominational movement which
started several years ago and be
came so popular that the Interna
tional Sunday School Association
corresponded with the Sunday
School leaders in the various states
with the result that it was decided
to make it an International move
ment.
“Go-To-Sunday School Day” has
been observed in Georgia for the
past three years in February, but
as Georgia wants to be a part of
the Internatbnal movement, the
day will hereafter be observed the
first Sunday in November. An
other reason for making the
change is that better weather can
be expected in November than in
February.
The principal aim of the dav is to
have a record-breaking attendance
in the Sunday Schools of all de
nominations in America, and to
try to make the lessons and ses
sions unusually attractive by hav
ing a special program, with the
view of creating more interest in
the Sunday Schools and securing
a larger regular attendance.
Large posters to be put up in the
Sunday Schools advertising the
day, and the International pro
gram will be furnished free on re
quest by the Georgia Sunday
School Association, 1519 Hurt

The Human Factors
In Good Service
There are three parties to every tele
phone conversation —the party calling,
the trained operator, and the party who
answers. All three share alike the respon
sibility for quick and accurate telephone
service.
The calling party should give the cor
rect number in a distinct voice, speak
ing directly into the transmitter, and
wait at the telephone until the party an
swers or the operator reports. The called
party should answer promptly.
Patience on the part of the telephone
user and the telephone operator is also es
sential to good service.
