PROGRESS NEWS NOTES. April here. Brand new time on hand. Farmers busy preparing their land for seed planting. Mr. Corn Bread may tickle some folks throat, but I love him. Be careful —even a pair of plow handles can hurt you. Notice —I will carry you to town, will bring you hack home, plow, haul loads, kick up dust, blow out, turn over, get in ditches, cost money, go forward, run back wards, go dead on you and kill you. So be carefTil with me. 1 have some bau tricks yet. —Ann Automobile. If you want your uncle to tell you what whiskey is he can tell you in a very few words: It is the devil in liquid form. This day and time we peoole have become too inconsiderate of the little things. We would be powerless to move the load if it were not for the tongue in the buckle. So let’s save the little thing. . Some ft Iks believe if you re move a window and put a door in its place, some member of the family is going to die. If a roost er crows before the door company is coming. Spin a chair around and you will get a whipping and so on. But Isay there is as much sense in such as there is in putting pie crust in your shoes to get fat. Say Oalkand.ifyou want to know which is the eastern side of a girl, why just turn her face to the north and her back to the south, then set to the right side of her —and there you are. The Easter egg hunt at Progress school house was enjoyed by ail present, old as well as young. There is a worm in this county that not only destroys our crops and profit from a year’s hard toil, but it will eat the hat off your head, the coat off your back, the silver and greenback from your pocket book. It will crawl up to your home, eat the leaves from the shady trees, the flowers from before your door, then attack your babies, tat the bread and meat from their hands, the sparkle from their eyes, the clothes from their iutle backs, the shoes oil their feet and leave them to shud der in the wintry winds. He eats the roses from mother’s cheek, the heart out of her breast, then crawls to the graveyard and bur rows itself and drags its victims down to an untimely death. Have you ever seen him? It is the worm of jj still. Uncle Jeremiah. You can’t spend your money and save it too. Buy War Saving Stamps. Beersheba First day of April. Three weeks till court.
