Not Even a Drink.
Not long ago the revenue offi
cers visited a certain citizen ot
this county, who was (or had
been) making liquor. The offi
cers first went to get the still be
fore searching the house. There
were two ladies at the house, who
got busy taking care of the liquor
that was on hand before the ene
my made a search for it. One of
them made for the bed, concealed
two four gallon jugs full of the
“bone dry” liquid under her skirt
and pulled the cover up to her
neck, while a gallon jug that was
being hurriedly put away in the
meal barrel hit the side, broke,
and its contents were lost. So
when tile officers and their guide
returned one woman had the
camphor and was rubbing the
"sick woman’s aching head.” The
men made a thorough search un
der the bed, and everywhere else
it w r as thought a jug or keg could
oe concealed, but finally left with
>ut getting as much as a drim<,
little dreaming of what the woman
i i bed had under her skirt. —Dali-

PRESETT CONDITIONS have swung the demand in favor of the BRISCOE.
There’s nothing doubtful about that.
When a car has made an increase of 133 per cent in sales during the last five
months, here’s something in its fdvor.
Numerous tests show, that the BRISCOE will go twenty-five to thirty miles
per gallon of gasoline—ten thousand miles on a set of tires, and seventeen
hudred miles on a gallon ot oil
Now that IS something to you, Mr. Buyer.
