Smith-Newman Mfg. Co., McDonough, Ga. Gentlemen I-- I am attaching my check for $75.00 for one Tri-Plex Gin Saw Gummer and Filer. I have used several different makes of gin saw filers and gummers, but have never used one that has given me the satisfaction this one has. It's a remarkable little machine. I gave a boy $5.00 to file my 4/70/12" Murray stands and he did a better job than I had done last year at a cost of $35.00. Yours truly, FRANK LEAHY. For Twelve Months Support. GEORGIA—Henry County. The sermon on “Unity” deliver ed recently at the Presbyterian church by its pastor, Rev. M. C. Liddell, was decidedly worthy of note, and demonstrates a spirit that deserves emulation both by clergy and laity, not only in this section, but throughout the nation and the entire Christian world. In his discourse the pastor lik ened of the churches, of all creeds, to the human body, saying that the Christian churches of the world, of whatever denomination, must be likened, in God’s provi dence, to the members of the body ; that each, as in the human organism, had its special duty to perform, and that only through perfect co-ordination of all church es could Christ’s work be fulfilled on earth, as only through perfect co-ordination of all parts of the human body can best be attained the highest powers of performance vouchsafed by God to man’s body. A great and liberal idea master fully handled.- The time has, or should be, gone by when “Oh, re ligion, what crimes are committed in Thy name,” may be looked on merely as a solecism, or can rest on even a semblance of truth. People are generally more en lightened and more liberal-minded than was the case one hundred, or even fifty years ago. The spirit of Christ and His helpfulness is more and more gaining the as cendancy, and, as it should, the spirit of villification of the other fellow’s belief is coming less and less to the fore. Vituperation is not argument, and persecution and opposition have always proven the very best spur for the upbuilding and growth of a new religion or movement. Mr. Liddell deserves that his re cent discourse should prove amply fruitful. Speaking of unification of the churches in Christ’s work calls to the mind of the writer an incident along the same line which came under his observation years ago, in which figured a printer located a few years in a town in soutwestern Texas. He was a Catholic, but there being no Cath olic church in the town he attend ed a union Sunday school. After he had been attending regularly at the the union school for a few months its superinten dent, who was also the superin tendent of the public schools, left to attend college in a distant city. The people at the union Sunday school urged the printer to accept the superintendency of the Sun day school, but he demurred: ‘‘But I am not of your religion,” he said; ‘‘l am a Catholic.” “That doesn’t make any differ ence,” they told him; “this is a union Sunday school, and all denominations are represented here.” He took up the work, and in two months time trebled the at tendance at the school bv business methods and an understanding love of the little ones. After a year and a half in the work, business betterment neces sitated his removal to a distant state. On his last Sunday, in bid ding the children good-bye from the platfrom, tears choked him and he could not proceed, for he had grown to love them dearly, and they loved him, for every child in the school was in tears, and for two weeks after his de parture the little ones went daily to his former boarding place to inquire for him and would leave in tears. He was a Catholic and those children were all non-Catholics. That they worked together in beautiful harmony and love was because of a unity and oneness in love and service of God. —Greens- boro Herald-Journal. “Y\7'HAT I particularly like about ’ ' Dr. Caldwell’s Syrup Pepsin is its mild but thorough action on the bowels.
