Readjustment. When will times get better? That depends on a lot of things,' we will mention a few of the things. First, *he wheat growers want a readjustment of prices. Their prices have ranged from the gov ernments fixed price of £2 60 a bushel, down to $1.74 a bushel. The growers say the price has been, adjusted the wrong way. The speculators are stealing their wheat. Certainly they are for tie growers say so. You pay about SISOO a barr 1 for flour and know that is noi right. Who do you accuse of stealing your money that either you or the wheat grower should have? Do vou think it is the grain elevator operator or the mill man that grinds the wheat? Certainly we cannot lay the blame at the feet of our wholesale or retaii dealers in flour, because they nev er care for more than a- very small per cent of profit. Corn is down to 75f a bushel and if a man does not care to have the corn ground, he can swap 2% bushels for one bushel of meal. Some .bargain you see. What do you think is wrong with the corn and meal situation? Who is steal ing the difference in the price of corn and meal? Somebody is steal ing for they say so. Oats are quoted at 47f a bushel and w T ho in the thunder ever heard of perfectly good oats being worth less than one almighty dollar? Oat growers accuse the specula tors of stealing their oats. Stock growers say the packing houses steal their stock and I am inclined to believe it is so. Stock, such as hogs and cows sell for 5c to 6f a pound ori foot and for 20<’ dressed. How could it be worth 15f a pound to dress cattle and hogs? f Then we come to cotton and it seems certain the price has been adjusted the wrong way. It costs 40’ a pound to make cotton. We know it did for everybody says so. Then to take for cotton we all know the speculators are stealing cotton, but wno under the sun knows who the speculators are? The railroads are not satisfied with their millions of dollars of profits, and cannot afford to pay the present extortionate price for labor. And of course their labor ers cannot afford to work eight long hours a day for twice as much pay as they used to get. So it goes that the employer and the employee accuse each other of criminality and stealing. What shall we do to pacify the railroad babies? Minors and their laborers are having the same trouble from the same cause. All other industries and their laborers are having the same trouble from the same cause. The cause is, the lack of confidence. In whom have you much con fidence? Confidence has been laid away on a high shelf, and is of no service today. When did you use any confidence on your neighbor and when did he use any on you? The time was, when bu siness was done on faith and con fidence and was perpetuated by living up to that standcard. In the good old days when we lived by the Golden Rule, whether we had much or little, all went well. We have swapped tlae Golden Rule for the Dev.ii and the Witch, and the result is Sin. Today it takes $2,000 to do less than we used to do with nothing. That is so with us, not the other fellow, but you and I. There is something wrong with most everybody except us. Do you reckon the other, fellow would think there is anything wrong with us? Everybody wants the other fellow readjusted. If that is done we can live, or we think we can, but how under the sun can the other fellow live until we are readjusted? Are you ready for the operation? Are you ready to reestablish con fidence? Are you ready to live the Golden Rule? If you are times will be better. A WIREGRASS BOY. DEAN’S 0-TOO-TAN SOY BEANS More Profitable Than Cotton.
