COMPANY HAS
NEW NAME
And Elects Officers
To Carry on the
Business.
A meeting of the gentlemen
who compose the new buggy com¬
pany was held Friday aiternoon
of last week and a permanent or¬
ganization formed, with the idea of
getting ready for business.
The gentlemen decided to aban¬
don the idea of using the name of
the Norman Vehicle and Manu¬
facturing company and adopt the
uame of the Covington Buggy Co.,
instead. It was the idea that this
name would localize and identify
the concern as genuine home in¬
dustry and the change was made
by unanimous consent.
Mr. J. M. Wright was elected
president and general manager
and he will be in active charge of
the business. He is a thoroughly
practical buggy manufacturer of
long experience. Dr. J. T. Gib¬
son was elected vice president; Dr.
N. Z. Anderson secretary and
treasurer, and Messrs. K. 0. Lee
C. C. Brooks, J. T. Gibson, J. M.
Wright, E, L. Almand, N. Z. An¬
derson and Wood Aiken, directors.
The entire company is compos¬
ed of practical and subst antial bus¬
iness men ai.d they will stop at
nothing short’ of success in this
enterprise. This is shown in the be¬
ginning by securing Mr. Wright,
whose reputation as a buggy build¬
er is so well and favorably known
especially through Georgia. He
was for many years the head of tb<*
