Mr. C. C. Epps, one of Starrsville’s
progressive merchants, was shaking
hands with his many friends here
Tuesday.
Rev. Charlie C. Elliott, of Sparks,
was here a few days of last week.
Charlie has a number of friends in
this county who are always glad to

Mr. E. D. Wallace, who has been
with the Fincher-Norris Hardware Co.
here since its organization, left Mon¬
day for Milledgeville, where he goes
to accept a similar position with a
responsible hardware firm in that city.

Messrs. C. A. Harwell, R. R. Fow¬
ler and R. P. Lester left Tuesday for
Athens where they went as delegates
from Hendrick Council to the annual
meeting of the Grand Lodge of the
Royal Arcanum of Georgia.
The many friends of Rev. A. C.
Mixon will regret to learn that he is
critically ill at his home in the sothern
portion of the county. His daughter,
Miss Emma, is also quite sick. We
wish for them an early restoration to
former health.
Dr. J. D. Chapman, pastor of the
First Baptist church of Valdorta, will
assist Rev. E. R. Pendleton in the
protracted services to begin at the
Baptist church here tonight. Dr.
Chapman is a preacher and evangelist
of wide reputation and no doubt will
give the people of Covington and vi¬
cinity something to think about in his
sermons during this meeting.

Rev. Eugene R. Pendleton, pastor
of the First Baptist church of this
city, returned Saturday from a two
days stay at Indian Springs. Mr.
Pendleton mgde the trip on foot and
the first day he walked 13 miles. He
reports walking good between Cov¬
ington and the Springs.

The many friends of Mr. R. M.
Everitt, one of Covington’s pioneer
citizens and a man of sterling charac¬
ter and honor, will be glad to learn
that he is able to be out again,
after being confined to his home for
several weeks.
Revival Services at the Baptist Church.
Revival services will commence
at the Baptist church tonight,
Wednesday, and will probably con¬
tinue throughout next week. The
people of the city are especially in¬
vited to come out to the services,
which will be unusually good, Dr.
J. D. Chapman, of Valdosta, will
assist the pastor and together they
will hold the best series of meetings
ever held at this church. The
services will be held at 9:30 in the
morning and at 7:30 in the evening.
Dr. Chapman is one of the most
eminent divines in the state and it
will be a treat for the people to
hear him. He is assisting the pas¬
tor here over the invitations and
requests from a number of other
cities. He is an old friend of Mr.
Pendleton, and will delight the
people of this city with his forceful
and logical sermons. Go out to
hear him.
Death of an Infant.
The little three year old daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew King, of
Stewart, died with croup last Tues¬
day and was buried at the family
burying ground Wednesday.
The entire community sympa¬
thize with the bereaved parents in
the loss of their little one.
