gia in the Sixty-second Congress,

FOR CONGRESS.
In making this, my formal an¬
nouncement as a candidate for the
62nd Congress subject to Democratic
Primary, 1 desire to call the attention
of the voters of this District to the
tact that the present incumbent has j
continuously held this position for a I
period of 20 years.
1 now believe that the people of this I
District are ready to make a change,
as it is un-Democratic in principle to
allow one man to hold office for a life
time; especially is this true when.the
fruits of his service to the people as a
representative have not been bene¬
ficial in their character.
I most respectfully solicit the kind
consideration of my candidacy and
hope to have the pleasure of meeting
each voter in the District face to face
before the campaign is ended.
Most Respectfully,
Wm. Schley Howard.
