PROTRACTED SERVICES AT
NEW CHRISTIAN CHURCH.
We have been requested to an¬
nounce that a series of protracted
meetings will begin at the Christian
church, in this city next Sunday,
April 15th. Rev. Geo. F. Cuthrells
will be in charge of the services
and preach at both morning and
right.
Special song services have been ar¬
ranged and several of the best sin¬
gers in this section will be in the
meeting to assist. The meeting will
probably continue for ten days or
two weeks, and a special invitation
is extended the people of the city and
county to attend.

trial Index, published at Columbus,
Ga., says iu its regular weekly issue;
“An encouraging sign of the times
is the continued 'U’ganization of com¬
mercial bodies among the cities and
towns of the two states. During the
past week Dublin, Ga., and Perry,
organized chambers of commerce and
Quitman, Ga., reorganized its trade
body. Two of the places mentioned
in addition to the formal organiza¬
tion raised by subscriptions sums of
money that will be used by the new
boards in their work of advertising
and development.
“Jefferson county, Alabama,
