a most delightful visit to Airs. Walter
Wallace, of Social Circle, and is now
with Airs. Dan Jones again.
Airs. Luna Barnett left Sunday for
Atlanta, where she will spend two or
three weeks preparing for the Spring
and Summer millinery season.
Mrs. J. T. Nolan and children, Aliss

returned Sunday afternoon from a
pleasant week-end visit to Atlanta.

while there attended the funeral of

Airs. Willie Wright Jones spent
Friday in Atlanta, where she went to
get her little daughter, Gwendolen,
who has been spending the past week
with relatives, at East. Point.
Air. Rufus Franklin, one of Mans¬
field’s prosperous farmers, spent

home from Atlanta, While here he
was the guest of his brother, Air. C.

Aliss Clara Belle Adams, who is at¬
tending Brenau, and Mr. Oliver Ad¬
ams, of Georgia Tech, will arrive the
22nd to spend the week-end at home
with, their parents, Air. and Mrs. L.
D. Adams, on Floyd street.
Mrs. O. H Peek, who has been
spending several weeks in the city
with Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Peek, during
the recent illness of the latter, left
Friday to spend some time with her
parents near Aladison before returni
to her home in Greensboro.
Mr. and Airs. J. Al. Fleming, whose
marriage was a pretty social event
taking place on Jan. 8th, and who
have been spending the past month
in Knoxville, Tenn., the former home
of Mr, Flemming, arrived in the city
Saturday last, and will make Coving¬
ton their future home.
Airs. Henry Sanders who has been
making her home in Covington for
several years left last Monday to
join her husband in Sanford, Fla.,
where they will make their future
home. Airs. Sanders will be greatly
missed in Covington, as she has en¬
deared herself to every one by her
earnest church work, her attention to
the prisioners at the convict camp
and also to the poor and needy. It is
with genuine regret we give her
up, but our loss will be Sanford’s gain

Among the pleasant events of last
week was the rook party given by
Misses Bessie and Elon Cowan on
Thursday evening at their home on
Floyd street.
At the conclusion of the interesting
game, delicious refreshments were
served.

VALENTINE PARTY.
A pretty and delightful social event
of the past week was the valentine
party at which Aliss Lucy White en¬
tertained a number of friends, on
Saturday evening at her attractive
home, in honor of Air. Ernest Duffey,
of Alorrow, the guest of his sister,
Miss Evelyn Duffey.
The house was beautifully decorat¬
ed with ferns, growing plants, red
carnations, cupids and hearts.
There were different contests and
games which were very much enjoy¬
ed. Aliss Eugenia Guinn w<ja the
prize for the best valentine telegram.

was beautifully carried out in the
