The large number of ladies gather¬
ed at the Methodist church Tuesday
afternoon to meet Airs. Dillard were
instructed and pleased with the beau¬
tiful address she made telling of
the groat work undertaken and being
accomplished by the W. C. T. U. The
National Union now has a member¬
ship of 268,545. Our “Cyclone,’’ Airs.
Armor, is now in Wahington. Two
phalanxes 20000 strong, men and wo¬
men, inarched to e east front of
tbe capital, and presented petitions
demanding national prohibition by
constitutional amendment. Georgia
representatives were in the front.
A'rs Armor made a ringing speech
from the steps of the capitol for
* nation-wide prohibition, for which
tbe W. C. T. U. are now working.
January 15, 1914 has been appointed
a day of fasting and prayer for vic¬
tory in this great campaign. May
tbe temperance people never ceas<
to pray and work until they banish
t’ e saloon from our whole country
and teach men the evils of drink. It
is reported that there are quantities
of liquor being shipped to our own
town and county right now. How
many murders and other crimes this
liquor will cause, only the future can
leveal. Let ns try to prevent them.
Fere is work for the local \V. C. T.
U., and the temperance men to do.
Should we not use our influence
against it, and go to work to crush
the “blind tigers?”

And to tell you the fact he’s a cracker-jack,
but he is slow about it.
So come early to avoid the rush
