Mrs. Addie Turner left last week for
the Piedmont Sanitarium in Atlanta
and her friends will be glad to know
that she is some better.

Mr. George Fowler returned Sunday
night from a pleasant visit to Social
Circle , Monroe, Athens and Corinth,
where he spent his vacation.
Col. R. J. Travis of Savannah after
an extended trip to the Canadian Rock¬
ies, Seatle, Los Angeles, San Fran¬
cisco and Mexico, came down from At¬
lanta and spent a few hours with his
brother and his mother.

mer, is spending his vacation with his
parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. P. Lester at
their home in North Covington. He
will leave in September fo r Clemson,
S. €., where he will have a position
in the college during the winter.

WATERMELON CUTTING.
Miss Lucy White was hostess to a
number of friends on Tuesday after¬
noon at a delightful watermelon cut¬
ting on the beautiful lawn of her sis¬
ter. Mrs. Thomas Green Callaway, the
affair being a pretty compliment to
Miss Beverline Adams and her charm¬
ing house guests. Misses Cade of Wash
ington and Marguerite Adams of Car¬
rollton.

gressive conversation was the most in¬
teresting feature of the evening. At
a lat e hour beautiful and delicious
cream and cake in pinft and white was
served.
