1. C., of Milledgeville, arrived Friday
night to spend the holidays with her
mother, Mrs. Ida Whitehead.
Mr. W. C. Clark, Jr., superintendent
of the normal training department of
the sa\annah Public Schools, is at
home for the holidays.
Mrs. James E. Stratford and child¬
ren, of Augusta, arrived Friday night
and are guests of Mr. and Mrs. E. O.
Lee, on Monticello street.
Miss Nannie White, one the most
popular teachers in the Quitman High
School, will arrive home to-morrow for
the Christmas holidays.

Miss Eloise Burney, of Rome, grand¬
daughter of John F. Henderson, of this
city, has recently won the first prize,
automobile, in a contest held at that
place by the Rome Tribune.
Mr. and Mrs. B. C. Jenkiajg and
children, of Columbus, are spending the
holidays with Mr. and Mrs. N. C. Carr
at their attractive home in North Cov¬
ington. '
Mr. Judson Adams, of Los Angeles,
California, after spending a week a
Akron, Ohio, arrived home Monday
night and will be the guest of his par¬
ents, Mr. and Mrs. L. D. Adams, dur¬
ing the holidays.

at Milledgeville and arrived home Fri¬
day night.
The many friends of Mr. A. S. Ad¬
ams, of The News, will be glad to know
that he has recovered from his recent
illness and has resinned his business
at the office. Mr. Adams was taken
suddenly ill while in Atlanta to see
the Birth of a Nation, and was at the
Georgian Hospital several days.

A marriage of interest to the people
in the city was that of Miss Mattie
Nell Wright, of Covington, and Mr.
Joseph Warren Lee, of Gordon, which
took place in Macon December 15th, at
the residence of Rev. J. M. Glenn, Pre¬
siding Elder of Macon district, North
Georgia Conference.
Miss Wright is the eldest daughter
of Mrs. Legrand Wright, of North Cov¬
ington, and ’one qf Covington’s most
. harming and talented young ladies.
Mr. is thg son of Mr. and Mrs.
X. Wi Lee, of Gordon, Ga., one of the
most prominent families of the state.
Mr. and Mrs. Lee are at homo to
their friends at the residence of Mr.
and Mrs. B. L. Wright in Gordon.

CLUB.
One of the most interesting events of
the week was that of the Study Sec¬
tion of the Woman’s Club, on Tues¬
day afternoon, which, met at the at
tractive bungalow of Mrs. J. (’. Upshaw
on Conyers street.
The committee on entertainment in¬
cluded Mrs* S. H. Adams, chairman;
Mrs. J. C. Upshaw, Mrs. Charles H.
W bite, and Mrs. Evans Lunsford.
