But, niy friends, all that I have said I
against the Kaiser, my enemy, may lie
taken back into my heart if I knew
that he really believed in God as his

HUMOR REPORTING,
By J. -M. Hendrick, of the Emory Class
in Journalism.
It has lieen said that newspaper re
porting is tile most fascinating work in
tin* world, and any man who has ever
tried the game at all will agree with
this statement.
There are many sides to the uewpa
i K ‘ 1 ' game, but to me the humorous is
tiie most interesting when one sits idle,
thinking over his ex|ierien<vs and the
stories lie lias heard.
Once two rejMirters from two rival
newspapers in a city were sent to in¬
terview an important personage stop¬
ping at the residence of the Governor;
tine of tiie fellows caught a taxi and
was tiie tirst to arrive, but found that
the ]>erson he wished to see was at the
Capitol. Just as he was leaving his
rival stopped his Ford and dashed into
the mansion without noticing him. The
ttfst reporter did nothing but get into
the other fellow’s car and ride off a>
the owner came running out of tiie
house, making frantic jest urea and cry¬
ing for him to stoic but the auto-thief
reporter did nothing hut laugh. Need¬
less to say. lie scooped the other paper.
One day a reporter was sitting in ids
little office typing off a story, when a
repo iter from the other paper in the
city passed, walking at a rapid rate.
Instantly he dashed out tiie hack door,
through au alley and followed his rival.
