As to age, we each grow older a ;

by a recent writer, “Man is not at
his best and most useful period in

age where unjust criticism fails to

deviate from the paths of honor and
right doing.” I am thankful that 1
have reached that age, but 1 am most
thangful for the complete endorse¬
ment of myself by this Grand Jury in
their own w^rds, which were written
before they took up the case of recall.
Alas! Too late for re-call were their
words of endorsement when written
in the General Presentments.
Tank you, gentlemen, for your
unanimous endorsement, and be as¬
sured that 1 hold no ill will toward
the 14 who forgot they had endorsed
my attitude and my labor.

otherwise, or until my term of office
shall have expired.

MRS. H. B. ROGERS PASSES

Mrs H. B. Rogers, one of Covington s»
best known and most highly respected
ladies, died at her home on Conyers
street at 5:30 o’clock Sunday evening
at the age of 52 years, leaving her hus
band aud four chidren. Emmett, Ernest,
and Miss Ilia Rogers.
The deoased had been ill for some
time, but her death was a great shock
to her many relatives and friends and
the source of unanimous regret.

cians and music lovers assembled in Carnegie
Hall. Marie Ruppold andJdario Laurenti of the
Metropolitan Opera Company sang in eompari
son with the Re-creation of their voices by this

The leading Pittsbmg newspapers were repre¬
sented at this test.
