NEWBORN NEWS Misses Mattie Mitchell and Janie Brown, with Messrs. G. M. Mitchell and Doyle Mitchell, attended the Dis¬ trict conference held in Conyers last Wednesday and Thursday. Mr. C. C. Chalker, Misses Alma Davis and Elizabeth Benton are in Watkins ville this week. Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Partin had as their guest Sunday Mr. and Mrs. W. R Stihvell, of Covington Miss Elizabeth Bowers, of Social Cir¬ cle, is here for a few days with friends. Miss Katherine Stowe has returned from a delightful trip to Monroe. Mesdames Ruben Saye and J. W. Ma¬ lone spent Tuesday as the guest of Mrs. J. T. Dickerson. Miss Fldrence Dickerson left last week to accept a position in Atlanta. Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Pitts, of Watkins ville, were here Sunday, the guests of Mrs. Tom Dickerson. Mr. and Mrs. G. B. Speer, of Okla homa, the guests of Mrs. W. S. Loyd, spent Tuesday in Covington, with Mr. and Mrs. L. D. Adams. Misses Cecil and Mary Evelyn Free¬ man have returned from Athens, where they have been visiting their aunt, Miss Ida Wright. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Pitts, of Madison, spent Sunday with Miss Mellie Pitts. Mr. Fred Williams, of Atlanta, spent Sunday with homefolks. Mrs B. S. Greer is in Atlanta with Mrs. Helene Sasnette for a short while. Messrs. J. T. Stokeley and H. G. Da¬ vis were in Atlanta Monday and Tues¬ day. Mr. Marcellus Benton was in New born Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. R. A. Eubanks of Atlan¬ ta spent Sunday with Mr. Olin Pitts and Miss Mellie Pitts. The Womans Club met with Mrs. J. H. Childs Monday afternoon. Plans were discussed for the summer months. The next meeting will be with Mrs. J. T. Pendley in July. A full attend¬ ance is requested for this meeting. Messrs. Mrs. White Nunnally, of Atlanta, who has been visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Stephens, has returned home. Mrs. Norris, of Atlanta, is spending several weeks with Mrs. L. A. Patrick. We are sorry to learn that little Her¬ man Casey has been quite ill for the past few days. Mr. and Mrs. Louis D. Bolton have returned home after a trip to Asheville, N C. Miss Mollie Reeves and mother have returned to their home in Charleston, South Carolina. Messrs. Charles and John Adams spent last Sunday in Atlanta. Mr. and Mrs. ,T. B. Reeves are to leave soon to make their home in Atlan¬ ta. We regret their departure v*,ery much. Miss Louise Adairs has returned home after a week’s stay at Riverside, Gainesville, attending the Presbyterian conference there. PINE GROVE NEWS The girls of the Christian Endeavor Society entertained the boys last Wed¬ nesday night at the school house. Many games were enjoyed. Fortunes were told and palms read.
