A meeting of the Sergeant Newton
Chapter, D. A. It., was held on the
regular date, Wednesday, in the home
of Mrs. H. Kilparick on Floyd street.
This was the first occasion in which
“open sesame” was given since the
completion of the beautiful remodeled
house.
The artistic surroundings were en¬
joyed to the fullest by the friends of
Mr. and Airs. W. A. Andrews, Mr. and
Mrs. H. Kilpatrick.
Owing to the absence of Mrs. W. C.
Clark, regent, Miss Sailie Mae Sock
well presided. A heavy volume of busi¬
ness was dispatched with system and
ease.
"The Lord’s Prayer” was repeated in
unison.
Airs. Walker Combs acted as secre¬
tary pro tern.

ATLANTA FOR GEORGIA
EDUCATIONAL MEET
A number of teachers from Coving¬
ton High school and surrounding ter¬
ritory are in attendance upon the Geor¬
gia Educational meeting convening in
Atlanta today (Thursday).
Prof. J. L. Yaden, superintendent of
the local schools and vice president of
the Eighth district, has granted a holi¬
day for Friday so that all of his teach¬
ers may have the opportunity of at¬
tending.
The occasion promises to he very in¬
formative aside from the delightful
get-together spirit it inspires.
Several of the Covington young la¬
dies teaching elsewhere will avail them¬
selves of the holidays to make a brief
home coming visit.

The week-end party at which Air.
and Mrs. P. W. Godfrey entertained
was characterized by a delightful in¬
formality. The guests were the recipi¬
