The marriage of Mr. Thomas Chal
rnus Swann and Miss Julia Benton
took place quietly Monday afternoon
at the home of the bride’s uncle in
Atlanta.
The bride is the eldest daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Chappell Benton, of
Mansfield, ” and is a young woman

She is a graduate of G. S. C. W. and
has made her influence known in edu¬

She is generally beloved and will
brighten the heart and home of her
husband.
The groom is the only son of the late
Mr. and Mrs. Thomas C. Swann, of
Covington, and a brother of Mrs. Jas.
Hyde Porter, of Macon.
Mr. Swann is a Georgia Tech man
and is prominent in the social and bus¬
iness world.
He is of distinguished lineage on
both sides. On the paternal side he is
descended from Col. Thomas Swann
and Elizabeth Sillington of Swann’s
Point, Va. On the maternal side he is
a descendant of the Stowers’ and Lew

they left on a bridal trip to spend a

SOLEMNIZED AT HOME
A marriage of artistic simplicity and
cordial interest was that of Miss
Lartelle Meador and Mr. Edward
Pennington Thursday afternoon, June
28, 5:30 p. m., at the home of the
bride’s parents south of Covington.
Rev. Tom Marston, of the Methodist
church, performed an impressive cere¬
mony, which was witnessed by a large
number of friends and relatives.
The long living room, so beautifully
adapted for such an occasion, was dec¬
orated with a tracery of smilax and
an effective arrangements of pink roses
in vases and baskets.
The improvised altar of foliage
plants formed an attractive back
ground for the beautiful
tableau.
An appropriate selection of bridal
music was rendered under the direc¬
tion of Mists Fletcher Lou Lunsford.
