Christian Science lecture given
Obedience to the laws of God
brings spiritual awakening, rebirth
and the healing of physical
disease, a Christian Science
lecturer told an audience in
Oxford, Georgia, on Saturday.
Oct. 23.
John Richard C. Kenyon, of
London, England, said that
Christian Science effects not only
physical healings, but also the
gradual spiritualization of
thought, in which qualities such
as unselfishness, purity, honesty,
patience, and love transform
character.

John Richard Kenyon
Kenyon explained that the
spiritual understanding of god as
the only power destroys fear and
this is an important step in
solving the many problems that
confront mankind.
Kenyon told of healings through
prayer of polio and of blindness
in one eye which had been in
jured in an accident.
Members of the Covington-
Oxford Christian Science Group
sponsored the lecture. Kenyon
was introduced by Mrs. Evelyn
Cook, first reader.

Pecan Harvest
The best time to harvest pecans,
says Tom Crocker of the Georgia
Extension Service, is as soon as
they hit the ground. The longer
they lay around, the faster they
lose quality.
